If you’re looking for peace and quiet and some time in nature, then this is the spot. Perfect camping spot to rest along your journey. Not far off the R62 and the little bit of gravel road is easy driving. The hosts are very accommodating and friendly and great at communicating. The bathroom is simple but has everything you need. Clean toilet, sink and shower with good warm water. There is also a seperate basin for washing dishes. The bird life along the dam is wonderful to watch and then at night you fall asleep listening to the frogs chorus. A little gem of a find, especially if you value privacy. Camping spot has a beautiful view of the dam, 20m from your tent. Ablution facilities (shower) and an area to wash dishes with a huge portable braai. Internet signal is good. Felt completely safe. Hosts Lucille and Jorg are welcoming without being intrusive. Hiking trail on the farm, which we did not have time for. Perfect place for exploring the area. And if SwimBikeRun is your thing - wowser go check out the Sewe Weeks Poort Pass 5km away. A true oasis of peace and tranquility in Opzoek. The campsite next to the dam is a perfect spot to find your soul, enjoy nature and just relax while watching the Red-knobbed Coots feeding and bobbing in the clear water. An added bonus is that you can bring your four legged companions too. Facilities are more than adequate ( hot shower, flush toilet and basin, scullery) all neat and clean.
