Pure luxury and its vista’s are beyond words. The Landrani Lodge & Sable Stud is in the middle of the Karoo, and a haven of quiet and peace. This is not a game lodge, as so many people who see what this stunning lodge offers in the way of nature, tend to think it is. Here, you come to unwind – in a setting far different than lush green winelands, curated wildlife sanctuaries, and suburban hospitality establishments touched by urbanization. At Landrani, you spend nights looking at the stars – so clear and glittering against the ink darkness of the sky. I was drawn to Landrani Lodge first and foremost by the pictures of the infinity pool – a stunning blue body of water surrounding the main lodge, where visitors can relax in tranquillity as they gaze at the heart of the Karoo. Sunsets and sunrises are magnificent, whether you are in a room or by the pool. Considering the heat of the area, this gorgeous infinity pool, was a perfect draw to cool off in or near. Each chalet – less than 7 in total - is perfectly fitted with state-of-the-art appliances, from Nespresso Coffee Machines to phone app-controlled blinds and warming blankets. The hospitality at Landrani Lodge is also beyond reproach. Traditional hospitality in a modern setting, was a pleasant welcome here. The management were attentive in the most welcoming and efficient way, followed by their staff who were hands-on and fantastic at their jobs. When it comes to the food, I thoroughly enjoyed the meals made with locally-sourced and fresh ingredients, and secured – as the rest of the lodge is – with all Covid-19 preventative health and safety...

We spent 4 night here.... I don't have words to describe just how amazing it was! The farm is 25min outside of Oudtshoorn and the almost 7km dirt road is very well maintained.||The location is out of this world... you really stay in the mountains with spectacular views, even from your bath or bed. The sunrise/sunsets are breathtakingly beautiful and the stars - I've never seen so many in one place! Apart from the many sheep and lambs, the farm is also home to many antelope like springbok, kudu, gemsbok, sable and so many birds... also saw a cute wild rabbit 😊||The spotless, modern cabins are well-thought-out with very good wifi and high-end finishes that includes a sunken bath, auto blockout blinds, Nespresso machine and a pellet fireplace for the cold nights! Some cabins have a hot tub too! The cabins are spaced out from one another ensuring total privacy. 😍||The main lodge with a central fireplace has a warm and relaxed feeling inside with stacking doors all around to ensure you have a beautiful view from your table, no matter where you are seated. Our weekend at Landrani Farm Stay in Oudshoorn was truly a delightful experience. The setting is idyllic, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by the charm of the countryside. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our stay — from the friendly gentleman who drove us around to the diligent cleaning staff member — their warm hospitality made us feel very welcomed and well cared for.||I had informed them beforehand that I don’t eat lamb, but since it is a lamb farm, the menu was focused solely on lamb dishes. While I understand the farm’s specialty, offering some additional options such as chicken or vegetarian meals would help cater to guests with different dietary preferences and make the experience more inclusive.||Additionally, we were disappointed to discover upon arrival that the pool was under renovation. Better communication about available amenities would have helped us plan better and set expectations accordingly.||Overall, Landrani Farm Stay provided a lovely weekend escape. With clearer communication about amenities and a broader menu variety, it could become an even more versatile and welcoming destination.
