We stayed for 2 nights at Melkhoutkloof and what a find this was. Firstly it is in a quiet area with wonderful views of the sea. Although quiet the guest house is within easy reach of George & Mossel Bay so you don’t feel isolated in any way. We had dinner at the Transkaroo Restaurant just down the road both nights which was excellent.||JB and Adri are wonderful hosts & the breakfasts were delicious & a little different from the norm. You feel that Adri enjoys cooking for her guests, we had a delicious omelette the first morning & eggs benedict with sausages on the second. Adri explained the omelette recipe to us & it’s one we’ll try & reproduce at home. The rooms are very clean & comfortable & overlook the natural vegetation close by which is home to many attractive birds which we sat & watched feeding in the garden. You could not find a better welcome anywhere & we have stayed at many Guest Houses in the Garden Route. We hope to revisit this guest house...

We've never experienced a B+B where so much attention is paid to detail, as was particularly evident at breakfast. We stayed two nights and both breakfasts were an experience! JB's wife is not only a first-class cook, she must be an artist as well! For bird-lovers, the Melkhoutkloof is a paradise. Situated next to a ravine and boasting a garden full of trees, bushes and bird tables, it attracts a multitude of birds, including the shy and beautiful Knysa lourie. What a pleasure it was to sit on our balcony and observe them all. I wish we could have...

The Guest house is managed by the owners and there's four rooms. ||Because of a short delay on the road we called the Melkhoutkloof Guest House and warned that we should arrive at around 11:30 PM. When we arrived they were waiting for us with a smile.||Next morning breakfast was amazing. A flag from our home country was at each place setting, butter with good morning written in it and fresh flowers. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, juice available. Also a fantastic quiche .||Would definitely recommend this...
