very disappointed. the pictures on the internet are misleading (probably taken several years ago), the whole place needs a makeover, starting with the disgusting swimming pool, which was filthy as were the sun loungers. Our 'hut' was dark, depressing and grubby, needed a good clean, the furniture appeared to have been acquired from a charity shop and was very tatty, and the bedding and towels had certainly seen better days. the main lodge also was quite a dismal place, due I suspect to its design, the thatched roof on the outside comes down to almost floor level, so inside there was very little natural light, apart from that which came in from the terrace area. the breakfast was very very basic and the evening meals, not particularly anything special and we were given the same very limited menu three nights running. the 'drive' too was sadly lacking. the driver did her best to make it as interesting as possible and she was to be fair very knowledgeable, but there was a lack of wildlife to see, 4 giraffes in the distance, some 1-2 miles away, same with the zebras, but little else. the grounds around the huts and pool area were well kept, but that's about the best that could be said. the whole place was just a bit run down and seemed to be on the edge of giving up. so disappointing as given its location, it could be really nice. I don't normally give poor reviews, but in this instance, felt it...
Read moreHad the most relaxing weekend at Nyaru Game lodge.this gem is nestled on the outskirts of mosselbay and it was a real treat.we had the pleasure of staying at the 4 bedrooms self catering cottage which comes with a private pool as well.the property also has a restuarant where we had a nice yummy breakfast overlooking a beautiful view. There is also a resident warthog and meerkat roaming the property and possibly your digs so keep your door locked.i mean Timone and Pumba in the flesh lol..Due to having our kids with we opted for a safari although they also have quad bike safaris which looked so cool.the guide was very informative on all the animals on the reserve they even have a white giraffe called Bleach..The rooms of our lodge was beautiful and simply decorated and best of all the linen was top notch..(I have this thing with crisp linen). Also all the rooms overlooked an amazing view.if u ever need time to just get away from the hustle and bustle and commune with nature then this is the place.Compared to other game lodges they are also reasonably priced so you getting good value for money. The staff were also very welcoming and very friendly.I would highly recommend Nyaru Game Lodge as its perfect for couples, friends or...
Read moreWe booked this Lodge with friends from overseas. Months in advance we booked the ATV rides for our arrival date. A few days before our arrival I send them a message to make sure everything was booked. On our arrival the front staff informed us that the ATV were all broken and there will be no rides going out but we can opt for the Game drive that sounded way overpriced . In the 24 hours that we were there - we went for a long walk as well, we saw very little animals. Saw a few as we drove in. The staff had a poor attitude - our TV remote did not work, we couldn't get the W IF to work and they didn't seem interested in helping us - after talking to some people it seemed that they are changing owners and have had a lot of issues. I was such a let down experience. They should not be asking those prices. It is overpriced for what they...
