3/5 - Premium Cost but Underwhelming Experience. Having wanting to book the Bubble for a number of years for our anniversary we finally were able to find an open weekend. The cost was R9000 for 2 nights with breakfast included. The weekend started off in chaos when we arrived onsite (17h45) and everyone had left for the day and no one knew where the keys were - after being told the Bubble would be open with the keys inside. Eventually found someone who did his best to help and started phoning around. Keys eventually located and we could finally check in.... After taking a pathway that is not very clear with roots and vines along the path. There is minimal lighting along the path but not recommended to walk it at night without a light. The Bubble is a pressurized bubble meaning there is air constantly being pumped into it - sadly drowning out any noise of the sea (which is in viewing distance). The day we arrived the water in the hot tub was cold. The next day we asked that it be turn on, sadly the water was so hot it was unusable and we eventually gave up trying. As a wedding venue it is no doubt a fantastic venue, however the music from the wedding on Saturday was clearly audible in the bubble (even though it's a distance from the venue) till past midnight so didn't get much rest that night. The site and venue is a beautiful venue, the staff were friendly and accommodating (when they saw I have a disability they did bring breakfast to the bubble on our last morning which we appreciated), but I think the premium experience was lacking and needs some work. I also recommend that on the website it clearly states that the Bubble is not disability friendly.

A mixed experience. The service at the front desk was friendly and helpful – even our late arrival was handled without any issue. The location in the dunes is beautiful and peaceful. However, our room was quite noisy and not as clean as you’d expect for this price range. Breakfast was very basic, with only a few items available from a limited menu. Tea and coffee are included, but anything else – water, juice, or even a slice of toast with jam or honey – costs extra. The overall service during breakfast felt rather reserved and unmotivated. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and guest care, this place could easily live up to its stunning setting.

We had a great 4-day stay at Seeplaas. Mariana and her team were very warm and welcoming, and were quick to resolve an issue we had with water to the room due to power cuts. Rooms were well maintained every day and we never had any problems with cleanliness or room amenities.

The hotel has a lovely location and a nice breakfast.

However there are many downsides:

No direct beach access after they close the reception. The stairs are only accessible from there so we had to climb over a fence to reach the beach. The room got so hot. No form of aeration whatsoever provided. At least provide a fan. Opening the windows is not an option as mosquitoes will come in. No bug spray provided in the room. And there were flies and a few insects inside the room. Small spiders were coming out from the bed's wooden headboard. Cleaning is average. Bring your own hairdryer because if you use the one they provided it will take you triple the time to get the task done. The pressure of the water in the shower is very low and inconvenient. We woke up to a very bad sewage smell and decided to leave as soon as possible because it was unbearable to stay in the room.

I do think this place has potential if they make some improvements. We didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff but they...
