A Gem in Wilderness

I recently had the pleasure of staying at VIEWS OF WILDERNESS, and it exceeded all my expectations in every possible way. This boutique guest house is truly a gem, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine desire to make my stay comfortable and memorable. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure their guests feel like royalty. They are not only accommodating but also extremely knowledgeable about the area, providing me with valuable local insights and recommendations.

The property itself is a paradise. Nestled in the mountains of Wilderness, the guest house boasts breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty. The well-maintained garden and pool area provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it an oasis of serenity.

My room was nothing short of luxurious, with elegant furnishings and a comfortable bed. The attention to detail in the room's design and decor is simply outstanding. I slept like a baby throughout my stay.

Breakfast at Views of Wilderness is an experience in itself. The gourmet breakfasts were beautifully presented, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. I was consistently impressed with the variety of dishes offered each morning, and the taste was unparalleled.

From the moment we first started communicating with Sonya and Reynier, we knew we were in for the trip of a lifetime. Our visit on the Garden Route was made so much better by our stay at Views over Wilderness. A very fitting name for this perfectly located piece of heaven. On arrival, we were met by the fluffiest pooches, which soothed my soul, no barking or jumping just longing looks for an ear scratch, which we gladly endulged them with. The decor called to the artist in me, and the spacious room with what has got to be the best bed on the Garden Route was exactly what we were looking for. The hidden bathroom, with its massive shower, and hot water during Loadshedding was the best yet. Sonya sorted us out with dinner reservations and "things not to miss" and it was honestly such a nice added service. After dinner we enjoyed some star gazing from the wrap around deck and the setting sun painted the sky for us, the unobtrusive view toward the ocean made this a moment that we will never forget. The ladies who served us the breakfast were kind and friendly and even chatted to us about some local farms my husband wanted to know about. I can not decide it the view, the pooches, the service, the pool, the amazing Fan (thanks for the info Reinier) or the breakfast was our favourite part. What I can decide on is that this is a MUST stop on our next visit...

The view is truly breathtaking. The breakfast is outstanding, featuring fresh fruit salad and eggs prepared to each guest’s preference. A delightful selection of cheese, bread, and muesli is also available. Each room is equipped with coffee and tea facilities, as well as a safe. Housekeeping service is provided daily. It’s worth noting that there is no air conditioning in the rooms, but the natural ventilation usually keeps the space comfortable.

One aspect to be aware of, particularly for guests who are afraid of dogs, is the presence of four friendly dogs that roam freely throughout the property, except in the guest rooms. Some of them are quite large, and there is a faint smell of dogs in the air. The toilet is not separated from the rest of the room by a door, which might take some getting used to.

In rooms located near the common area, mornings can be lively, starting around 6:00 to 6:30 AM, as the delicious breakfast is being prepared. Not all rooms are accessible through the common area; some can only be reached via the terrace entrance.
