Mitchell's Guest House — Hotel in Glenlily

I have so much respect for Dale, the owner. He is a legend.

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day stay, with a lovely private Jacuzzi, and a great room with a very comfortable bed.

He made us feel very welcome, and there was even a pool table where my wife and I could challenge each other. Of course, as always, she won 😜.

We played music on my new Bose speaker, and had a great time talking and relaxing before bed.

After checking out and going back home, I realised later (a few days afterwards) that I forgot my Bose speaker at Mitchell's Guesthouse.

As it was an expensive speaker, I wanted to get it back as soon as possible.

I called Dale and he said he will investigate immediately.

A day afterwards, after speaking to all his staff, they realised that an intern who was studying Hospitality at a College, doing his practical at Dale's place, stole the speaker.

Dale went to extreme lengths to locate the thief, who immediately blocked him on Whatsapp after he left with the speaker.

Amazingly, he successfully retrieved my speaker with a LOT of effort.

So not only is he a fantastic host, he is a great detective! 😂

I would highly recommend Dale as a host, and Mitchell's Guesthouse to anyone looking for a comfortable, private, casual getaway!

I would kindly Advise anyone who's looking for accommodation around Cape Town to book somewhere else. Michelle's Guest house is the worst ever the owner was so disrespectful he has a gangster who stays in the house they even threatened to kill me if I write a bad review about the place. So I want them to kill me in fact because I wrote the review he also wanted to attack me in front of the staff. And even his staff don't like him because he abuses them and that they have no rights. So I strongly suggest if you looking for accommodation don't even go there it's worst place ever even the staff members said to me they just working there because they have to put food on the table for their kids otherwise they'd be looking...

This is a definite stay at places! I can't get enough of the staffs friendlieness and how accommodating they where! We got an unexpected delay after a 24 hour trip in Capetown. So we booked with Mitchell's guesthouse and o my NO regrets! They had a hot tub and after such a long trip that way the way to end the night. The kids loved it and so did we! Great area for the kids as well. I want to come back and almost can't wait. They had cold beers and we could pay with a card. They had transportation for us from the airport we only had carry-ons with us and all 4 of us for really well. I would highly recommend...
