We stayed at the Hotel @ Secunda on 28 October 2017for one night. My experience was as follows:||||Client service: The check-in was hassle free and the check-out was peculiar. By the time we departed on the Sunday Morning at 7:30 there was nobody at Reception so I just left the key behind the counter at Reception. This creates an opportunity for somebody to just pick up the key and remove things out of the room, thus, leaving me responsible for any possible loss. A key deposit box could be a solution.||||||Room: ||We stayed in the Executive King Room. The room is nice and big with what looks like a 40 inch flat screen TV (Only limited DSTV channels are available. I could not find any music channels), mini fridge (not stocked and one tiny ice tray), a Kettle with 2 mugs and spoons (coffee, tea, creamer, sugar are provided for free), and 2 tall glasses. A safe is also available in the room.||||The king size bed is really comfy, not to firm or soft. The bedding was clean and tidy. I cannot comment on how often it is replaces as I only stayed one night. I can also not comment on the cleaning services due to this.||||Only Body lotion and shampoo is provided. Seeing that the bath in the room is a stand out feature I expected a little bit more. Bubble bath would have been a nice touch and even bath robes. 2 Bath towels and one small towel are provided. There is a swimming pool on the premises so bring your own swim towels. ||||The room opens up on a shared porch with tables and chairs overlooking the gardens.||||There are ample place to pack clothes in the room but the space to hang clothes are really extremely small. Only 2 hangers provided….see attached pictures. There is no telephone in the room, but this is a feature seldom used in any case. Receptions number and other emergency numbers could, however, be displayed somewhere.||||And for some reason there is no hair dryer in the room!||||Smoking: ||Smoking is not allowed in the rooms and I could not see ashtrays on the porch. ||||Lift (elevator): ||There are no lifts because this is a single story hotel.||||Hotel premises: ||The Hotel premises are nice and neat and well upheld. About 130 meters from the hotel there are a Crawdaddys restaurant, a Wedding venue and a Gym. I could not hear any noise coming from...
Read moreThe service is pathetic to say the least 😥 😡 🤮 The house keeping staff is so rude, arrogant, unfriendly and very noisy when they are moving and working around the rooms. We checked in on Saturday and checked out on Wednesday but our bed linen wasn't changed for all the days we spent there. The room was only cleaned on a Monday evening(if one can call that cleaning) and that was after complaining at the reception. The staff has no name tags and that could be the reason why one short, stout, rude and arrogant (also with a foreign accent) house keeping lady had the nerve and audacity to ask us if she could give us wet towels and hang them in our room, after we asked for some, since they were none in our room. That particular one epitomises ARROGANCE and yes, "If I don't CARE" was a person, that would be her 😂😂 The management must pull up its socks 🧦 Little wonder there were a number of rooms without guests. Who wants to clean a a room when they have paid for a stress free holiday 🤔🤔And by the way, on our last night we received a letter from the house keeping ladies explaining that they knock off at 4pm and therefore it was impossible for them to clean our room as we had requested earlier on. They also added that they are short staffed. 😳😳How is that any of our problem as guests 🤷🏽♀️ The owners must invest in sound and professional personnel to salvage their otherwise beautiful hotel before it's...
Read moreGoing backwards quickly. Such a pity because its on a great location, but it appears the owners have not been around for some time - or so it appears. The hotel rooms are spacious, but the quality of the maintenance is terrible. Mouldy roof in the showers, spilt paint on the tiles, no hot water in the basins and the fridge ice box has not been defrosted and is completely iced closed. There is also no light on the mirror in the bathroom so that renders the mirror as useless. The amount of noise emanating from some of the rooms shows that there is no control on the guests. The room next door to us had a boisterous party until 02:00 am and although we tried 6 times to phone someone in reception, there was just no answer. This was the same issue other guest experienced in various other parts of the hotel. The breakfast which is included in the room package and is served at the Crawdaddy restaurant is equally disappointing. Service was non existent and took 30 minutes to get a coffee, there was no juice available and the food quality leaves a lot to be desired. If you are staying over on a business related journey you may be alright, but as a wedding venue, with international guest staying over its an embarrassment for the...
