We booked this guest house during the December holidays after we were unable to secure any of the other more popular venues in the area - I am so glad we did !! From the way our reservation was handled, to the time we were collected from the local Brown's Landing airfield by Monica and Duncan, our trip was an absolute pleasure.||||The property is a well renovated farmhouse situated on a picturesque farm about 10 minutes from the Kei mouth and about 15 minutes drive from Morgan Bay.There is an abundance of game which roams freely in close proximity to the farmhouse and we were able to enjoy morning coffee with a view of small herds of waterbuck, nyala and wildebeest all grazing within 50 metres of the wide, wrap-around patio. The house has a interesting collection of pottery and artwork and is furnished in a comfortable, homely style. ||||We stayed in the Warthog room which we were told was the smallest of the rooms in the house (and the only one still available at the time we booked). The room was perfectly comfortable, spotlessly clean and very adequate for our 2 night stay. Being aware of our interest in aviation, our hosts had even taken the trouble to put a copy of the latest SA Flyer magazine in the room! We were thoroughly spoiled by Monica's delicious cooking (our room rate included a full cooked breakfast and a 3 course dinner). As we didn't have a car for the duration of our stay, Duncan very willingly drove us around to give us an orientation of the area and was so helpful with the fuel etc. that we needed for our aircraft - no request was too much trouble. ||||As guests, we were thoroughly spoiled with a level of caring hospitality, attention to detail and service from our hosts, Monica and Duncan, which is not commonplace in South Africa and which, in our experience certainly rivalled Cape Town's luxury "One & Only" hotel (coincidentally the last property we stayed at before Endalweni). We would happily have stayed an extra night or two if we had the time, and we will most...
Read moreThis place blew me away. A beautiful farmstead set amongst the stunning South African countryside, with zebra, bok and warthog roaming free through the reserve.||||Monica and Duncan and their family are extremely welcoming and we felt instantly at ease. We stayed in the self catering apartment but were lucky enough to sample Monica's fantastic cooking both for breakfast and dinner. Game drives can be arranged but we were happy just to sit on the stoep with a beer and watch the wildlife grazing a short distance away.||||I really was very taken with the tranquility of Endalweni and our hosts were more than happy to chat and converse as they were to leave us to our quiet contemplation.||||We were traveling the scenic route from Durban to Cape Town so only stopped for one night, but left with a strong affection for Endalweni and I am sure I could have happily...
Read moreI have only 1 word to describe the Endalweni: heaven!||Our experience was absolutely wonderful. From decoration to service; the landscape and the marvelous food served. Endalweni was a hit. The guest house is surrounded by a beautiful landscape, full of green, African Acacias, lots of beautiful animals such as zebras, antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, among others. It is an excellent option to have a piece of the incredible South African Wild Coast and it is very well located from East London, where you can find nice shopping malls and all services you may need. ||Definitely, it is a place where I...
