Haga Haga Beach Hotel, Conference and Self Catering — Hotel in Great Kei Local Municipality

Had items stolen by the hotel porter who in hindsight believes was not employed even partime by the hotel. Made it clear that I had expensive equipment, but the guy I tipped, disappeared, hotel would not give me any info. I also was refused my deposit after I requested they keep the cash, incase I decided to stay for a week. It was not an expected booking that was cancelled. Lovely location, all I can recommend is never to pay upfront or allow anyone to carry or store luggage. This region was my favourite; being 'safe' close to East London and very rural! Perfect for families safe for children. Be warned that has changed. This is besides the hotel complely reversed service as it seems the propieters are now only Interested in selling ST. Cashing out. I spend a lot of time along the Wildcoast. Not to put you off, it's beautiful and affordable, lots of family hotels very near to Haga, they are all similar affordable for example Morgan's Bay only minutes away. 100% better. Seagulls, even more affordable plus 10 more all within about 30 minutes or 2 hours away depending if you have a 4x4 if not still only 10 minutes to Morgan's Bay hotel. Book as always full! Ask yourself why if so close and only ZAR 50.00 difference in price. Last bit of advice don't book through the hotel / Google Apps. For example they will say 1 room left ZAR 1450.00 (Special Deal) etc. etc. When you call direct you pay (ZAR) R350.00 - R900.00 even in season. Photos are original: First Morgan's Bay, The Wildcoast Sun. Not affordable for level of service. Very commercial. Cannot get to beachfront. Going of topic but the best resort in my opinion along the coast are just outside PSJ. Umngazi River Bungalows and Spa. About (ZAR) R2500.00 - R3500.00 pps. Definitely best upmarket resort along the coast or let me say in the Transkei. The best affordable hotel is in Port Edward, called Estuary Hotel and Resort. Around R800.00 Looks like 5 star but fairly good 3 star. Definitely best in Port Edward. If you want to gamble, just drive 5 minutes to casino, not worth staying at Wildcoast casino see about. Double the price without room service as mentioned unless you like depressing casino, and 50 fast...

VISITORS TO HAGA HAGA HOTEL, FOR YOUR SAFETY. DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO TOUCH YOUR LUGGAGE. DO NOT GIVE ANY VALUABLES TO MANAGEMENT FOR SAFEKEEPING! I am not a good writer so please do not judge my review by my grammar or spelling! I believe Google are the only organization that have the right to delete posts, if they believe the reviews are false or fabricated. I believe Google has the right to request proof of any kind. I am willing to provide such proof plus, I am happy to state before a judge/under oath what I have claimed herein. For the record I state under oath that money was stolen from me by management. I have proof. I believe when the subpoena arrives for management and staff, the employee/s will tell the truth, once they understand that keeping a job is less important than perjuring themselves in front of a judge. My only concern is poverty and unemployment in this region is very high. (If this happens, I promise to find suitable employment etc.) This will not be made known to the employee at the time of the court case. They remain in denial about the employee who stole my valuable items this is after I asked for assistance and explained my luggage contains valuable items; they told me the employee had been with them for 30 years. Only after I got to my room and found the luggage outside the door & valuables missing did I realize that its impossible! (The employee must have been 1 or 2 years old when it started working at the hotel ) I remain under oath, to my knowledge the only explanation for all the items stolen and withholding of the name of the porter, he was no porter and not know to the hotel. Great views and location. I went to purchase a property ST cottage for just under R2M. Once I started asking about the (No development) along the coast I was treated like a criminal. Do not leave valuables with reception or management as my cash was not returned my luggage was in my room but an expensive mobile phone missing along with my laptop external memory and shoes worth over ZAR 10 000.00 When I requested the replacement I was told I am mad and am a lunatic. The only reason I did not purchase a property in March-strand for R3.5M as I wanted to check it out again already had spoken to the owner and rental agent but after the experience being the only restaurant / bar etc. I changed my mind. I also believe that some development has taken place as mentioned I arrived at 5pm and at 3am left when I found my items stolen I did not feel safe. At 10am after visiting the police station I received a call and I asked if I couldn't for my cash and shoes found as they claimed an employee took my bags to the room but no one would give me his name as he was not employed by the establishment and Jeep size 13 shoes would be easy recognised plus 3 other pairs so the thief left them as he made his escape the hotel have offered to give me my shoes and acknowledge my cash have threatened me with legal action and the police but I have never emailed them as I will return with the police as soon as possible. In total they owe me over ZAR 25 000.00 as I did speak to the police and have their name.
