The Hadeda cottage is well equipped for two people, self-catering. It is nice and modern with wi-fi and Netflix. The cottage has a beautiful view over the nature reserve and sea beyond that. We were greeted by Giraffes with our morning coffee! The hosts, Niel and Erna, are caring and welcoming. Erna's food at the restaurant will make you come back for more. We had a truly refreshing retreat at OppiePlaas Country Estate from 14–16 June 2025. The setting was peaceful and scenic, with our unit facing the ocean and a nearby game farm—absolutely soul-soothing! Though the game farm isn’t part of OppiePlaas, the view adds a charming touch.
The hosts were incredibly warm and hospitable, making us feel right at home. It was the perfect escape for my wife and I.
Bonus treat: only 30 minutes away lies Morgan Bay, where we enjoyed a breathtaking coastal hike. Highly recommended for couples or anyone needing a quiet getaway.

Visiting OppiePlaas was definitely a trip that will be long remembered! The country estate is located 2km from Haga Haga on a beautiful farm. From the Hadeda Studio, we could see different animals in the grass land next to the farm, as well as a beautiful view of the ocean. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The studio is newly built and has everything that you need.
