From the moment we arrived at Graceland Eco Retreat, it was clear this would be a stay like no other. Nestled in the heart of nature, the retreat offers a perfect blend of luxury, tranquillity, and breath taking views.
We had the privilege of dining at the Pause Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The Michelin-level 5-course meal was a culinary masterpiece, each dish crafted to perfection with an exquisite balance of flavours. The accompanying drinks were expertly chosen, enhancing the experience. As we enjoyed this gastronomic delight, we were treated to the sight of three majestic giraffes gracefully wandering past the restaurant, a moment of pure magic.
The accommodation itself was nothing short of spectacular. Spacious, immaculately clean, and well-equipped, it provided all the comforts we could ask for. Every detail had been thought of to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Though the retreat is located in a more remote area, the scenic drive along the gravel road only adds to the charm. It was a small price to pay for the incredible night sky views—the stars were so vivid, they seemed within arm’s reach, making for a truly unforgettable stargazing experience.
What truly made our stay exceptional, however, were the hosts. Their warmth, attentiveness, and impeccable service made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our every need was met and that we had a truly special stay.
Graceland Eco Retreat is the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature’s beauty, with all the comforts and luxuries you could wish for. Highly...
Read moreWe recently enjoyed a three-night stay at Graceland Eco Retreat, and it was everything we hoped for in a peaceful getaway. From the start, Anders and Douglas were exceptional hosts, providing clear and helpful communication that made planning our visit seamless.
Upon arrival, Anders warmly welcomed us and introduced us to our beautiful, modern yet cozy unit, which was impeccably prepared. The daily-serviced accommodation, complete with a generous supply of firewood for braais, truly exceeded our expectations.
One of the highlights of our stay was spotting the resident giraffes and other wildlife right on the property—an unforgettable experience! Another delightful touch was meeting their charming Cocker Spaniels, Phoenix and Sadé, who instantly made us feel at home.
Graceland’s location is ideal, offering tranquility and privacy while being conveniently close to Haenertsburg and other attractions in Magoebaskloof. We especially loved that it was far enough removed from the hustle and bustle to ensure complete relaxation.
To top it all off, our breakfast on the last morning was a culinary delight—creative, fresh, and far from the usual bacon-and-eggs fare.
Graceland Eco Retreat is truly a dream destination, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene escape. We’ll...
Read moreGraceland Eco Retreat is lovely and quietly situated in the area Magoesbaskloof. Once the "gate" of the resort was opened by Douglas, the doors to paradise were opened. We had a great and warm welcome from the owners and local staff and of course by the Presley Family, a group of giraffes, living in the resort. The "rooms" looked quite recent, offered all needed comfort and also privacy. Douglas advised us to not close the curtains during the night and wake up with the morning sun, as we did ! Great ! A dinner was prepared for us in the main building by chef Anders. As it was July and South African winter, the fireplace in the restaurant was lighted up, so great setting for a surprising fantastic 5 course dinner. Dear Anders, it was marvelous ! Great dishes and some even with a Swedish touch, as you just came back from Sweden with nice shrimps, caviar and lingonberries. Dinner at Michelin star level. In the morning after feeding the giraffes and our nice morning walk, the team prepared a fantastic breakfast. Cold and warm breakfast, eggs and even quiche. We regret only one thing, we should have stayed at least an additional day. Many thanks to both of you and the...
