What a beautiful Guesthouse on a farm just a few km's outside Calvina, we were only 4 people but the guesthouse can hold 9 people, very clean and tastefully decorated with old and modern style deco, big beautiful kitchen with a old dover stove and old Defy gas stove was so cool to see and an indoor braai, scullery with washing machine attached to the kitchen area, firstly the rooms are huge and each room is unique in bedding and deco absolutely loved it, the guesthouse boast two sitting areas a massive front stoep and outdoor braai area, playpark for kids and grass area right around, I thoroughly enjoyed the ladybird books collection on men and women, what classics,please check my pics for confirmation, Thanks Rolene, We will definately be back,love the peacefulness and tranquillity especially if...

I wish we could have stayed longer. Handvol Gruis (named after a quote in a poem by famous Afrikaans poet, C. Louis Leopoldt) has WiFi for the teenagers, a beautiful location nestled in the mountains, lots of sky and fresh air, a tastefully decorated farmhouse with ample proportions and a stoep well designed to keep you cool on hot days. The hosts are also warm and hospitable. The road to the farm is good so the 22km drive on the dust is not a bother. Despite the remote location and the drought it was worth the effort. This was one of the most incredible places my family and i have stayed along our travels.

Awsome our kids were in heaven from the slide and play area , to the Lego that was thoughtfully put in there room.
