Pros Beautiful and relaxing getaway for family. Kid friendly There is an absolute GEM of a restaurant called The Nightingale Restaurant with the best service I've ever received. The food is a 10 out of 10! Best hosting. This restaurant alone will bring me back here much more often 💞 (Ask for Christine, she is the kindest soul you will meet) Beach views, pool views Peaceful All units able to braai (both upstairs and downstairs) Fans in all rooms for those hot days Games room easy accessible (pool, table tennis, xbox) A small magneto rechargeable loadshedding light in all units (does not do wonders, but helps a little) Did I mention how beautiful this place is? You'll see the pictures I've posted here. Beyond gorgeous. There's a little convenience store 1 minute away that has everything you'd ever need, pop them a visit - they're amazing! They also have a takeaway called the Local Basket.
Cons MOSQUITOES galore. Be prepared. This was my biggest problem here (my fault for not being more prepared with repellents etc) Many many geckos and lizards around (personal con, could be fine for others) A lot of loadshedding, 3 times a day (2 hours at a time) and that's when the mosquitoes get worse due to the fan not being on as a deterrent Our first night here the magneto light did not work and we had loadshedding twice that night. Staff members were a little delayed in returning a working light to us, leaving us in the dark for the night However, the next morning we were assisted. From the second day onwards, we have loadshedding 3 times a day, 4 hours at a time. Just call in advance to ask about the loadshedding schedule (sometimes its something we cannot avoid)
Overall, amazing experience The above are just a heads up to be better prepared next time. This was not our first visit, nor will it be our last. Both upstairs and downstairs units are gorgeous. I do have a preference for upstairs though, better views.
Tip: take your board games, cards and whatever other interactive games you have! Perfect environment for friendly games. Bring a beach umbrella/ Gazebo during summer, it gets super hot...
Read moreMy wife, very active 2 year old daughter and I recently stayed at Unit 10 at Glenmore Sands in early November 2018. The accommodation is spacious, clean and more than adequate for a beach resort (self catering, sleeps 4, one bathroom with toilet and shower), well equipped (wifi available at a cost), braai facilities and an EXCELLENT shower. The views from this unit are absolutely stunning ~ we watched numerous whales, dolphins & ships on the water and even a cute dassie family on the rocks below for hours. The quiet and clean beach is amazing ~ we felt so safe and enjoyed a wonderful time on the sand (bring a beach umbrella). There is a kids jungle gym next to a fenced in pool and sun loungers ~ the facilities are really kid friendly. The staff were all super helpful and friendly ~ when unpacking my vehicle, two staff came up to offer assistance out of nowhere. All the staff greeted and were really polite all the time. The in house restaurant makes ridiculously good food, portion sizes extremely generous and pricing, if I'm honest, too cheap for what we got compared to other places!!

Read moreMy husband and I stayed in Unit 11. From the time we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We we arrived we requested a braai. This was delivered in less then 30 mins. The following morning I handed in the form and I put on the form, that a globe was fused. When I got back from my walk, it had been replaced. Then I phoned the office as the batteries on the remote were flat. Five minutes the Manager popped in and in less then ten minutes it was working. They were not busy so this could also be why it was done so quickly. But the staff were all so friendly and helpful. I can DEFINTELY recommend this resort, and will go again. The sea view from our Unit was too beautiful for words. The view from the Cabanas are also beautiful. The Unit was cleaned everyday. Thank you to the lady who cleaned you did an...
