Hlabisa B&B — Hotel in Hlabisa Local Municipality

I'm giving this institution 3-star rating mainly because of Miss Ntombela at reception. She is so professional. Without her good service, I would have rated it 1-star, because, 1. The advert says there is DSTV but I found OPEN VIEW, false advertising, 2. Showers have EITHER VERY HOT or COLD WATER, plumbing blunders make it very difficult to balance hit & cold water. The last thing I observed is lack of mats in the rooms, at the door and bedsides. The electrical plugs are also inconveniently positioned. If they can install one more plug under the table, down from the TV plug, it would be easier to work on the provided table. Otherwise, the roof is high enough to provide freshness in the rooms. Clean and neat and was a comfortable sleep. We were just surprised when all lights and water were switched off at 9pm. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, no crockery. Luckily we had purchased some cold drinks before booking in. Clean, but lacks any amenities beyond a bar of soap and a bit of shampoo. They used to offer breakfast so one could at least get a cuppa in the morning, but Covid took that option away. Unfortunately, Hlabisa is so small, there are no Wimpys, Mugg and Beans, or even a coffee machine at the local Engen, so you'd best pack your own beverage options, or wait until Spar...
