On our way from Clarence to Jeffrey's Bay it was a great decision to stay in the Karoo Ridge for two nights. You will have to drive on a dirt road for a while, but it will be worth every second. We have booked the Mountain Lodge, which is located around 10 minutes from the Karoo Ridge and offers stunning mountain views and animal sightings directly from the premises.
The lodge has two bedrooms with their own bathrooms. Each bathroom is equipped with a big bath tube offering enough space for two. The open kitchen is well equipped and is separated by an open fire place from the spacious living and eating room. However, the highlight definitely is the outside area with a private pool, a dining area and a fireplace/bbq area. Directly from the pool we have spotted turtles, spring bocks and many birds. Read moreThis place is magical. We stayed here for 2 nights on a roadtrip from Cape Town to Joburg, and it was perfect. The splash pool is perfect for cooling down in the Karoo heat. The lodge itself is beautifully appointed with luxury touches. A huge plus is that it's pet-friendly, so our doggie had the best 2 days ever running around the farm. A lovely shop at the main homestead allows you to purchase lovely trinkets. We also bought meat from Helen and Pete and it was so incredible, we put in another order! A lovely place that I would love to...
