We came all the way from Namibia 🇳🇦 to experience this beautiful lodge. The facility is well maintained and kept. Utterly neat, not only inside but outside aswell. Kids had a feast exploring, experiencing the free roaming Springbokke and bunny's, including a wide range of bird life, monkeys, fish and other reptiles. The river banks were flooded, but this didn't stop us from appreciating the beautiful orange river. The self catering rooms is small, but cosy, providing sleep space for only 3, but they added an extra matrass. Rooms were cleaned every day, we didn't expect that. The mattress and pillows are heavenly and we had such awesome night tests and afternoon naps. Unfortunately no wifi access at the rooms, mainly at the restaurant. The lodge is quite safe. They give you a remote to access and exit. They strictly adhere to covid regulations. Even assisted to print our covid test for a small fee. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers the most amazing freshly prepared food, with quick service. Menu is not big, but yummy 😋 especially their pizzas. By far my best experience in Keimoes, can't wait to...
Read moreBreathtaking, unique setting but unfortunately the lodgings are a bit run down and I found the kitchen in the selfcatering unit lacking in utensils and cleanliness. I had to contend with a cockroach or two - that literally ran on to my plate - and a multitude of flies while trying to fix a meal. The tiles, countertop oven and kettle are all filthy and grubby and most certainly unhygienic to say the least. Also no kitchen towels to use, but maybe that was a blessing, considering. I was even hesitant to use the bathroom facilities. Unfortunately these things matter to me, and being such highly rated accommodation, and considering the price, I expected more. I couldn't wait to leave, in spite of the beautiful setting. If you don't mind the above, like I do, then you might just...
Read moreToday we arrived expecting to have a problem due to the flooding Orange river. Yet on arrival, we were pointed to the higher part of the road, normally the one-way exit, to enter, with clear instructions as to where to park to check in. As we were driving to our accommodation, the chef Johan and the lady that checked us in, came to our car and suggested that they lay a table for us on our patio in front of the room, overlooking the river, and let us have dinner there. They took our order and Johan and a waitress brought our meal out ... and as always, the food were amazing. I just started walking after being in a wheelchair and they made a plan to make it comfortable for me. That is going that extra mile. Thank you Ikaya, we will return...
