The location is stunning.
However after one fantastic day and ignoring the dogs that remain glued to both your feet and unit, we had neighbours occupy spaces either side of us.
Now the problem here is firstly, paper thin walls on the one side where you heard everything including the music with perfect clarity, and the other was a promise by the owners of peace and serenity. The second set of neighbours had three generations of what I can only presume is an extended family that thought our veranda were the Kyalami straights, all the while behaving so loudly from the very first moment they got there that we needed to polish off all of our 4 day supply of alcohol in order to get to sleep. (We left the following day)
But the worst part of this whole experience was that after speaking to the owners previously to assist and then posting complaints, my wife was promptly told by them that the problem...
Read moreSuch a lovely getaway. Headed out here in early December 2020 with my family and we had the time of our life. The place is nicely situated in dense bushes ensuring a very quiet and peaceful stay. The hospitality level is excellent although one needs to be cautious of the strict check-in time. At the time of my stay, the facility was rated 9.1 by Booking.com and I could not argue with this considering the type of service received. There are various rooms to book but from my observations, a consistent standard was maintained for all. The place is clean and tidy and they have a swimming pool to enjoy when desired. When booking, one must consider that the closest amenity (small town) is over 5 KM away, otherwise bring your own stuff for a convenient stay. There is a game farm drive if request and comes at a reasonable price but can be shared...
Read moreMy wife and I went to spend a weekend at Kareekloof Game Farm and were overwhelmed by the amazing hospitality extended to us by Leon and Annalize. The knowledge they have of their lands and the animals (they have 16 different types of antelopes, giraffes, jackals and hyenas) is just mind blowing. We loved it so much that we had to return and ended up spending a month with this amazing family. The tranquility and connection with nature you can experience at Kareekloof is medicine for the soul, especially if you want to disconnect and be offline for a while. The friendly staff, the quality and cleanliness of the cabins is very high. Not to mention Annalize’s cooking which is to die for. There simply is no better place to go if you want an authentic South African experience. We will be...
