Cabanas: I will remember this experience for a long time, but not for the right reasons. The ‘bed’ is a poolside lounger with a thin plastic covered mattress. You can feel the wooden slats underneath you. In terms of bedding, you get one blanket only with no under sheet. This made me doubt the cleanliness. The pillows smelt strongly of stale beer. This is a camping experience. I slept in my puffer jacket in the summer. I had to wear ear plugs. I wouldn’t pay more than R300 for the night. I am sad to write this review as I was fond of the staff and the location really is beautiful, but the quality of the cabana experience detracts from this.

This hotel was one of my best experiences in SA. The view was amazing—actually, you can enjoy it from three infinity pools overlooking the ocean. I highly recommend this place to visit, and I’m pretty sure if you like adventure, you’ll enjoy it. The receptionist lady is the nicest person I’ve ever met; she really helped me and gave me a nice room, which I really appreciate. The owner and the manager were also very helpful and friendly. In total, the staff was really helpful and friendly. This place is like heaven! The road doesn’t need a 4x4 car; you can drive even with a normal car. Enjoy this gem!

We stayed at Tsitsikamma On Sea for two nights over the Easter weekend, it looks exactly like the photos on their website. The views are absolutely breathtaking! We booked one of the Poolside Cabanas, a lovely experience, although they aren't rainproof, so best to book them in Summer. Unfortunately, we had bad luck with the weather on the second day and it rained into our cabana. The owners moved us into the Ocean Suite for the second night. The owners, Stephan and Marie were very generous and welcoming during our stay. We had a beautiful relaxing weekend away. Thank you very much!

In response to owner/ manager at Tsitsikamma On Sea. Our request for a total refund is in all accounts a fair and totally reasonable request. The place was NOT AT ALL what was advertised. Might I add, strangely enough on other and different booking platforms, under another name though. We visit and travel up and down the coast as our holiday, thus making use of short period rentals. We are very updated on what can be expected and asking price - especially on a credited such as Air BnB. I am not taking away that the view and location is amazing. And the guest house was probably stunning… unfortunately emphasis on the word “WAS”. The curtains were all drawn. The “humidifier” was not going to clear up mould. I am not referring to wetness found at coastal residences.

We definitely did not in walk in “with issues”. The lady that welcomed and assisted us was friendly and chatty. Our son greeted the dogs, my previous letter did not on any basis give a negative reflect on the animals being there, I was pointing out that the place did not smell clean- please don’t turn this into a personal attack and bantering scenario.

The fact of the matter is, there is a mould and damp issue that should be addressed because it is a health issue, especially for little kids. And taking that primarily into account, and the run down amenities of Tsitsikamma On Sea aka The Cape Riviera aka “the Self Catering Cottage 5” (also seen on Air BnB), cannot be advertised as a 4 star establishment.

We will take this further, because we do not want anybody else to fall trap to such a disappointing state of events. Having to re-organise and pay for another place on such short notice is a total inconvenience and unforeseen financial burden.

View our review and response as positive critique. And because we did not make use of ANY of your services, and as you mentioned above you were not ready for us because check in was only due at 3pm. (And luckily the bar had not been pre-arranged to be opened -again, add that to your information pamphlet for future guests please), I feel that taking all of this into account the insistent of a refund is not at all a...

As a destination, this is an amazing venue with class throughout, ranging from the authentic art work on display to the large wine cellar boasting rare and select vintages which compliment the superb cuisine (enough to delight any gourmet), accompanied by classical back-round music and ocean views extending for miles as you sit above, overlooking the three-stage patio with it's glass, cascading swimming pools lit up at night... a very romantic setting indeed. With six bedrooms all exquisitely furnished, it is suited to smaller, intimate groups, yet they have catered for weddings and functions of up to 100 guests. The 40 hectare estate is set up high on the cliffs of the shoreline with three levels and a lookout point/deck on the roof... beautiful views for sundowners and watching the sunrise. The two bar and separate lounge areas are captivating, welcoming and relaxing. Your host, himself an author, artist, musician and successful entrepreneur, is the perfect gentleman and is able to entertain with great wit and humour, yet also hold very informative conversations when it comes to world matters, art...

Yes we stayed here. On the 8th of October 2023 not the 7th. We were looking forward to staying here as the pictures looked stunning. View was great and so was the worker Faith. She was amazing. But we were very disappointed. We did have blood on the pillow yes. You did “upgrade” to your so called suite. But only because your borehole ran out of water in the cottages. No I wasn’t fighting with my wife or did she beat me to write this. She couldn’t have called you from a different number as she didn’t have a phone. We were on our honeymoon and we’re having a great time. We understand it was gate controlled and a three minute drive to the gate. But how come it took you 20 mins after the phone call to get us? Also would be great if you updated your sign on your gate as it looks like it’s abandoned. I wasn’t going to write anything because I figured my wife said enough but with your blatant lies and stupid comments I decided to waste my time on you. If anyone is thinking of staying here I would think again. There’s way better places close by that...
