We feel compelled to highlight the exceptional level of service provided by Lombardini even amid their deepest challenges. Our scheduled wedding event had to be cancelled due to an unfortunate fire that severely affected the venue. Despite their trying time, the team showcased the utmost professional integrity, facilitating our unexpected cancellation with kindness and understanding.

I live in the US with my husband, and we finally had our wedding in South Africa after four years of marriage. This was long awaited for both sides of the family, so we decided to make a vacation out of it, with both sides of our immediate family. Lombardini is on my top 3 list of the best places I've stayed in South Africa. Not only did they accommodate both sides of our family for the couple of days before the wedding but they accommodated our guests too and closed off the entire Game Farm/Venue for our wedding. IT WAS MAGICAL! My family enjoyed a beautiful game drive where we saw all kinds of wildlife, a fishing trip where we saw giraffes too. Sadly our booking for the hotel was not honoured. We booked our stay 6 months in advance with a compulsory 50% deposit at the time. We should have known something was up when we got no reply on their WhatsApp business account (even though delivered) but decided to be hopeful nonetheless. When we arrived at 15:30 the property was locked and after calling both the main line and the mobile phone several times we were not able to reach anybody. We tried the bell at the gate, shouted and used the car horn to get attention but sadly we failed. We went back into town to find a new accommodation for the night. The property looked lovely through the metal gate - shame they can’t honour the bookings they take! Maybe they forgot about us or maybe they had an emergency - either way not quite the service you’d expect from a property charging in excess of ZAR...
