Pabala Private Nature Reserve — Hotel in Kouga Local Municipality

As we really wanted a weekend with silence and nature and a place for repeating visits. |Booked a suite and excellent food at the independent restaurant served!. What a little gem it is. But sadly our room had no housekeeping check prior to our arrival. And there were just a total lack of supervision on cleaning. Sitting outside taking in the view but the verandah was so dirty, not wind dust.. The little table outside had such sticky coffee marks from previous stay and as for the very dangerous verandah with no ballastrade and a drop of about 2 -3 m. This is just so so dangerous at night especially. The toilet had the most disgusting smell.. first thought it was the toilet seat which had previous dirt on, so I sprayed with my own sanitizer as there was nothing at all to use. After the next day "house cleaning" the smell was still there. On investigation we found the ladies bin was the problem! It had a previous courier guy wrapping and underneath that wrapped was a bundle of toilet paper with presumably ladies .... we placed it outside. The dust on thar bin! That bathroom floor hasn't seen soap and water for a very long time! The glass shower soap rack was so dirty with old hard previous soap on it! The bed beautiful wooden headboard was dark with dust! The wine glasses were so dusty..the shelf at the top. Everything had to be wiped.. even after the short room cleaning on Saturday..the verandah was not touched, we had to phone and asked for it to be cleaned... only th table were wiped. The floor was left as is.The ceiling fan remote didn't work, batteries flatthe very friendly ranger came to assist, what a helpful young man! But the fan couldn'tbe used during the nightas when you switch the light off the fan then stop also..|.so bitterly sad as we wanted to book a weekend with family in 3 units and 2 family tents, but if the suits is so neglected what does the tents look like? |Would the establishment perhaps look into this..as the price that we paid was really exorbitant for what we...

Pabala Paradise: A Wild Welcome!

At Pabala’s gates, we stopped in our tracks, Welcomed at once by some quacking ducks! Turkeys strutted like they owned the place, While a wildebeest stared us dead in the face.

With a snort and a stomp, he stood so tall, Like the grandest bouncer at nature’s ball. But the staff, oh, they made us feel right at home, With warmth and kindness wherever we’d roam.

Excitement and peace, a magical blend, Where each new adventure is just ‘round the bend. The Valley Suite—what a view so wide, Nature stretched far, our hearts filled with pride.

Springbokkies leaping, zebras in tow, Blesboks grazing in the golden glow. The campfire nights with laughter and cheer, As flames danced up like stars so near.

And oh, the sunrises, painted in gold, A sight so breathtaking, never gets old. Sunsets like fire, a sky set ablaze, Wrapping up perfect safari days.

So if heaven on Earth is what you seek, Pack up and stay for more than a week! For Pabala’s wonders will steal your soul, A place where adventure...

Our first visit to Pabala was spoiled by noisy, unmannered neighbours. We ended up leaving. The Owner contacted us an offered us an opportunity to come stay again. We did and WOW, just as I originally imagined it would be! It was quiet, relaxing and enjoyable. We rested out well, and am happy with the stay, we really needed it! Thank you for the offer, very kind. We would definitely recommend this place, especially when its not too busy, as then you will be rested out, and even hear the wildlife at night. Not to mention the great view from the Mountain View suite… Thank you Pabala, we are...
