Fairways Gold Crown Resort — Hotel in Kwa Sani Local Municipality

We had a memorable stay at Gooderson Fairways, thanks to its absolutely stunning location. Surrounded by breathtaking views of the Drakensberg mountains—snow-capped during our visit—it was truly a scenic escape. The nearby lake is perfect for fly-fishing or kayaking, and the golf course is top-notch, offering a peaceful yet challenging round in a spectacular setting.

That said, there were a few drawbacks that impacted the overall experience. The Clubhouse restaurants were either closed or fully booked, leaving the buffet as the only dining option. The on-site superette only stocks basic items, so it's best to bring groceries from Underberg.

Connectivity is poor—only 1GB of free Wi-Fi is offered, and mobile reception is unreliable. The chalets are charming but poorly equipped for cold weather, with only one heater per unit, no electric blankets, and just one blanket per person. Very poor lighting in the chalet. No two-point plugs are provided, so bring adaptors. Also, hot water bottles are a must in winter.

Wine selection was also disappointing, with no Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc available at the Clubhouse restaurant.

Overall, Gooderson Fairways is ideal for those looking to enjoy nature, golf, and mountain views in a tranquil setting. With a bit of extra preparation—especially during the colder months—you can still have a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Fairways resort is one of the most beautiful resorts we have been to . All of the chalets are facing one of the most well known mountain peaks .Rhino horn. The hike to the top of Rhino horn is 10 hours exceeding 18km return . The resort has many facilities for children. Some of the many activities they have there are, fishing , golf ,hiking ,putt putt , tennis courts ,trampoline, mountain biking , table tennis , pool and pools. They have braai facilities and...

HORRIBLE!!! The workers at the resort were not helpful at all. Nor were they welcoming. Whenever we enquired about something they blankly stared at us and used covid as an excuse. They did not inform us that there will be no cleaning services. When we came here we had to find out for ourselves. Whatever you do. DON'T GO TO FAIRWAYS IN DRAKENSBERG. It's supposed to be a 'Gold Crown Resort'. Very very disappointing and dissatisfied. They carry on like they doing...
