I loved our winter stay here. Rooms were cozy. Lots of history on the property and the host Betty is just the best. We spent a good amount of time in the bar playing pool and ping pong (They dont serve drinks or food, its more just an entertainment room) There is also DSTV available there. No cellphone service on the property but WIFI available at the Bar. The views are gorgeous and a little walk to the dam is a must. They give you firewood for your first night which was definitely used. More is available for purchase from Betty. Bring cash for that. Would love to visit again.

Mkomazana is home away from home,I enjoyed everything starting from the nice scones we got, the beautiful salt and pepper trail. The views are amazing and a big thank you to Betty for being an amazing host. We visited the Sani pass border gate we drove I think 15 minutes to get thee.... If you want to escape from everything I reckon you visit Mkomazana

Our 2nd year staying here for the Sani2C start and we always wish we can stay longer. Lovely fully equipped cottages, electric blankets (yay because it gets chilly) and a fireplace. Location is remote and surrounded by mountains and very beautiful and peaceful.

Mkomazana Mountain Cottages have a lovely and relaxing farmhouse atmosphere, and it is ideally situated for those who wish to tackle Sani Pass. The cottages are well equipped if slightly outdated, and the gardens offer tranquil views of the Drakensberg and the valley leading up through Sani. Fresh scones are delivered daily, which is a nice touch, and the cottages are fully serviced. Generally, this is a comfortable and family friendly place to stay. I thought that the price proposition was a bit steep, however, considering that there are no additional services offered, and no Wi-Fi or mobile service, and that the cottages don't really offer any luxuries. The owner/receptionist wasn't very hospitable, and when I asked for a refill on coffee she basically intimated that guests steal the stuff and they therefore don't refill anything; that made me feel rather unwelcome and uncomfortable. I would rather suggest that they don't offer coffee and sugar if they're going to make guests feel like thieves for using it? Anyway, the rest of our stay...

My wife and i booked in at the resort during the weekend of the 16th of August 2019, hoping for some snow. No snow in sight, but glorious sunshine. We booked the rose cottage, and was very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the resort as a whole. From our arrival on the Friday, until our departure back to the mad house at Amanzimtoti on Sunday, we were catered for by our hosts and their staff. We did not have any complaints, and yes , the scones are to die for early in the mornings. We drove up Sani Pass on Saturday morning, and spent the day taking in the beauty of the scenery, at the highest pub in Africa. The drive was not as hairy as expected, but concentration is still needed towards the final stretches. We are already planning our next trip back, in February next year, and can honestly recommend the resort to anybody looking for peace and quiet. There is no cellphone reception, and if you could find some, you are indeed lucky. I wish the hosts the best of luck, and see you soon. Regards. Eddie and...

This place is lovely! Truly, it holds a special place in our family's hearts! The staff are so warm, welcoming and helpful, the management are accommodating and friendly (even in blizzards!). The buildings are old and are historical monuments that are carefully maintained. All comforts are available, even in severe cold weather you'll be warm and cosy! And the beds envelope you!

Imagine night time fires crackling softly, with a great red wine at hand and a book of the region's history in the other! Its quiet, relaxed and rejuvenating. Wild game and fowl keep you entertained, hikes in fresh air open your lungs, and the towering Sani Pass beckons you to adventure into the mystical lands of Lesotho, just over the mountain peaks.

We try...
