Prince's Grant is a beautiful and excellently maintained golf course in a private, inland-access only development at the Indian Ocean north of Ballito. Overnight guests at the lodge in the same building play 18 holes for R 1260 per couple including cart, around 63 Euros. Even by South African standards, this is an absolutely convenient green fee. The view from the good club restaurant and the rooms of the lodge in the main building of the sea which is 950 m away, on entire holes 1 and 10 and the pitching green puts you in a good mood and makes you want to tee off straight away. In contrast to the great condition of the course, its beauty slightly misses our top grade. With the 15th, providing a breathtaking view of the ocean right next to it, Prince's Grant has a real signature hole. Other holes such as 13 and 14 are significantly less interesting and require very precise drives with their narrow entrances. We regret that 9 and 18 are a bit out of the way. It's not possible to admire exciting tournament finishes from the club house or restaurant or welcome friends terminating their round. The petrol-powered carts are not entirely up to date; you have to be able to endure the smell and the noise. All these would not make us dissuade anyone from making this great experience, here. Now, why this beautiful golf course is not for us: Earliest kick-off is at 7, long after sunrise which is a moderate problem that we know from other South African courses. Not moderate at all is this: We like to play a spontaneous 19 to 27 in the afternoon. Actually no problem: 4 hours before 6:45-sunset, you only see one or two residents of the surrounding houses teeing off with their own carts. Such a pity, this almost unplayed course at this time of the day. For us guests, carts are no longer available after 2:45! The supposedly reason is that the staff leaves at 4:30 and can't take any carts back. For us, this was a big surprise that we didn't know from other South African clubs and would have been a knock-out-criterion for our booking. We could book the 9 holes and carry our bags - no chance with big distances between holes, afternoon heat and slowing down possible traffic behind. The 24-7 lodge reception in the same building could easily accept the cart key after the round. The manager might consider this, based on our recommendation. But that's of no use to us, who booked four months earlier and traveled 11000 km to play 27 holes here instead of anywhere else.

Prince's Grant golf estate is absolutely stunning. It's peaceful with the silence that you can listen to all nature's sounds. The accommodation is well maintained with every little detail you can think of including some casual reading novels. There was wifi in apartment 1. The appliances are all elegantly selected and gives the kitchen a very cozy feel. Security at the premises are great which offers peace of mind during your stay. The estate feels safe for a casual walk anytime of day. There is an inverter and battery backup, so you never experience power outages. There is absolutely no reason for one to complain. Definitely 5/5 Well done and thank you

We stayed at the Prince’s Grant Lodge for 3D2N. We booked a huge room with king size bed and wrap around balcony. The view of our room facing the golf course and the sea was truly amazing. It was a very relaxing staycation. We love the staff, everyone is just very friendly and helpful. The food at the lodge was also good and that’s one factor that made our stay very comfortable. The whole property is huge, safe with great security. Make sure once you check in at the lodge to ask the frontdesk about biometrics registration so that you can access the beach. This place is a great quick getaway from Durban, just a good 45-50 minute drive off the N2.

We played In a 4 ball on Thursday 2 weeks back and completed 18 holes in 4 hrs 46 mins. On the course we were constantly harassed by the course Marshall to speed up play. We were never holding anyone back and the 4 ball behind us were 2 holes behind. The Marshall constantly said we must skip a hole and come back later. Yet we were not holding the field back and playing at a brisk pace. At the half way house we took 4 mins to go to the loo but we were told again to skip the 10th. I refused as we were not holding anyone back. On the signature hole there was another Marshall that harassed us severely to miss this hole, once again No players were behind us. I refused again. Speaking to this Marshall he says he has been instructed to this to this no matter what. This harassment just spoils your day and the enjoyment is taken away for the day. I fully support playing at a brisk pace and not holding the field back but to be harassed in this fashion left a bitter taste and took...

On the 6-4-23 at 09:30, I had called the proshop and spoke to a Danielle regarding a golf club that was mistably left at the club. I was assured prior to speaking to her that the club was found and ready for collection.

Unfortunately, without any understanding and lack of interest to enquire, find out or even try to assist me , she was very rude and unethically behaved. She told me that there is no such thing and no club. She then put the phone down on me. Horrible and shocking telephone etiquette.

I called back and spoke to Rejay, who assured me that the club was there and he did apologize on this ladies behalf, however it wasn't him that was rude. Thank you Rejay for your manners try to teach that Lady Danielle your values and ethics.

Please be aware of how you are treated and serviced by this lady who has a tendency of being verbally abusive towards people for no reason. I am completely deterred from setting my foot there due to this ladies...
