Bayside Hotel Pinetown — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

The hotel is in a central location with all amenities nearby. The staff at the reception were okay but would do better with customer service training. The rooms were functional, but musty and damp with mould on the ceiling and walls.

There was an electrical fault that caused the lights to flicker on and off and that eventually caused the switch to burn. We reported the matter and nothing was done about it.

Room 205 - the door handle is broken and there is a piece of tissue paper used to block the hole. The toilet seat is also broken.

On our final night we returned to find that our room was not cleaned and when we reported it were told that it is because we did not request for the room to be cleaned. However, we had been staying at the hotel for 3 days already and had not needed to explicitly ask for the room to be cleaned before.

We also struggled with high noise levels for the duration of our stay. All night long we would either hear music or loud talking and laughter from other guests, staff and the neighbouring building.

In conclusion, I would return to the hotel if all the above issues were resolved as I believe that they offer good value for money. The cleaning staff were also very friendly...

Very bad experience I spoke to someone on Facebook from bayside Lodge who said must talk to another person on WhatsApp from bayside Lodge I spoke to them , they just advised me to just visit the branch........ On the day I had planned , I went there to pinetown branch and the receptionist was rude saying I've never made an appointment and I should have pay first online........

( I'm not sure how to do that )......and what if people only have cash are you telling me they cannot visit the branch because payment must be done online.....

Although I had cash on me she didn't want it and refused me a room although rooms were available...... I ended up staying at another cheap dirty lodge down the road......

Very bad experience as someone who is coming from far and not familiar with the area you rufuse him and make him go to another more dangerous area risking his life......

P.s management and owner don't tell me you will "investigate"........

Make sure something is done whereby cash can be accepted at front desk and your incompetent staff is not rude it gives the company a bad name I don't recommend any bayside Lodge to anyone and I'm letting everyone know it , they must not spend they...

First of all, my personal Egyptian cotton bath sheets were removed from the room and not returned. ||The rooms and appliances were not in very good condition. Walls and paint was chipped and broken. Microwave was rusted. Headboards were old and filthy. The shower floors were very dirty with residue everywhere.||There was no electricity every single day morning and evening. We were unable to cook and use the iron, kettle, hair dryer etc etc. This was a major inconvenience and cost me money at the end of the day.||There is alot of loud noise starting at 4am everyday, Gates opening and closing, people chatting. some nights and mornings there were even people fighting and creating a ruckus.||I booked 2 rooms for an entire week but only used one room as my wife and 2 kids refused to come stay as we could not use the facilities due to not having electricity everyday. I had to book another hotel room in durban...
