We stayed over at the Eden Rose while on the way to a local game park. We spent some time with the owner, who was fascinating to talk to, and very welcoming/friendly. We accidentally booked the wrong room, but they were able to upgrade us to what we really wanted. It was really clean and quiet. The gardens are really something, and I had a great view from our bathroom of all the morning bird activity. My dad was comfy on his bed, but I found mine a bit hard, though I am into softer beds, and that's not everyone's cup of tea. Breakfast was customized to us, and we had eggs, French toast, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, and a nice conversation with the other guests. I enjoyed the dogs on the property, but I'm an animal lover. We didn't go into the pool. though it looked very nice. There was security at night, and cameras on the property to keep up with potential issues, but we didn't feel unsafe. Would have been nice to have more outlets in the room, but that was really the only thing that could have been better. We were happy with our stay. We saw our first monkey of South Africa here, right next to the sign, which I loved. Cool old fashioned keys for the rooms. As I see in some of the other reviews, it's a bit dated looking, but for us, it didn't take away from our visit.

Juliet, the housekeeper made me comfortable. The place is more like staying in someone's old style house. The closeness to the airport is what I wanted and got that.

Lovely homely place, conveniently located for short trips. The couple are so hospitable and go out of their way to please guests. Great braai areas and pool.

Worst place to stay. There are 100s of better priced, more modern places at a fraction of the cost. We were overcharged. Beds are old . Hot water ran out. Kids bathroom clogged.

Then when we finally came down for breakfast at 9h30 we were told that breakfast was 7am to 9am and they couldn't help us. Oh. We were the only guests for the evening. None of us were told of the strict breakfast hours!

Paid R4000 for 2 rooms when we could have stayed in a 4 star hotel in Umhlanga.

Don't do it. It's a pathetic hoax. The staff...

Visited the place and what a horrible experience. From parking my car I hear a dog barking and no sign of the entrance. Front door closed and locked. Someone peeping out the window and NO acknowledgement from anyone. Knocked no one opened. Had already made the booking online but I had to leave because no one opened but peeping through the window. Such a huge disappointment. If there was a zero on the ratings that's what I would have rated them. Poor...
