Gem of Manor — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

I was booked in room 4 and on arrival they had a problem with the room and was asked to move to room 2. Definitely not what I booked. Wanted the view and tranquil feeling. Location is a bit dodgy. Has garages but very small. Rooms aren't sound proof. I had to listen how my neighbour vomits 3am in the morning because she was partying the whole night. Definitely not a tranquil or relaxing time. Room 1 and 2 doesn't have a view. Only noisy street view. We had a issue with hot water in room 2. You get into the shower, warm water for 2 min then it's gone. You then have to open the basin tap and wait for warm water then open the shower tap. Definitely not ideal. Once my 2 kids had their quick shower I had no warm water. Chenesay was amazing, she always assisted me helped with washing etc. The rooms are beautiful but it's not in a great location and need some fine tuning. WiFi poor signal(room2. They offer YouTube and netflix but it wasn't always working. The room was kept clean. Don't think I will return. Will pay a bit more and rather have something with a see view and...

I had booked Gem of Manor for my parents and brother to stay as a result of localized flooding at their home. Unpleasant experience and the rooms were not as expected, broken toilet and fittings in the bathroom, bed was not comfortable.

They arrived with a booking for 1 night and had chatted to Natalie about staying for a few extra nights - when discussing cost, Natalie had indicated she would come up with a cost and share. A few hours later her husband had blocked the vehicle from entering the property and got very agitated about payment, which was duly done but he was unhappy with the proof of payment and the fact that it didn't reflect immediately - he then made it very unpleasant and my brother had to do an immediate payment to pacify him.

The only reason for 1 star is due to Natalie doing the refund as promised for the double payment. Avoid...

This place is not worth these rates. I had a terrible experience: I did not have access to my car the whole night, the two gates going downstairs were locked and I was not given the key. 2.I requested a wifi password which I was never given 3.There was a very awkward smell in the room which got worse when I switched on the aircon. 4.Overall, the place was very very untidy and unhygienic starting from the garage up until the room. 5.I then had to beg for an invoice for weeks which I still have never received till this day. I repeatedly emphasized the importance of this as it was work trip but I wait till this day.
