We arrived mid-afternoon and received a very warm welcome at this very secure and safe home from home one night stay before our very early departure the next morning to the airport.||We basically had the whole of the third floor to ourselves including the outside terrace with views out to the sea and a chance on our return from the restaurant to enjoy a glass of wine watching the birds and the large ships anchoring out near the port of Durban.||We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the two beautiful people, their home but it felt like the old saying, me casa y sou casa, this was a very relaxing stay.||We were recommended to visit the Beach Bums restaurant close by and did have a very good seafood meal, sat on the beach listening to the sea rolling in.||Clean room, with a small terrace but like I say we had access to the main terrace.||the next morning at 0500hrs we were even offered coffee before leavibg for the airport, some 12 minutes drive away.||Excellent value for money.||Very convenient location, very quiet location, very safe and excellent...
Read moreA short stay in Durban to connect my flight to Johannesburg. The guesthouse is conveniently located 15 mins away from King Shaka Airport, overlooking the sea. I asked for airport transfer service which the host was very prompt to pick me up in his Mercedes, plus it is reasonable rate. The bedroom is nicely decorated with amenities, clean and comfortable bed. The bathroom is clean, with warm shower. The view from the room and balcony is breathtaking, good wind and very breezy. The room rate comes with breakfast. My flight was early in the morning, so the host nicely packed full-size sandwich, yogurt, fruit juice, muffin and apple for me, very thoughtful. |The place is also 15 mins away from the microlight airfield and the mall. I used uber to go to the mall, about 115 Rand, it was ok also. |Overall the stay was very impressive and will come back again when in Durban....
Read moreA very nice stay with a welcoming and accommodating couple in Alex and Dorothy. The couple have turned their own home into a very conveniently located B&B which is roughly midway between Balito and Umhlanga, so just outside of the "busier" areas North of Durban. Also being just 15 minutes from the airport has also made for a well positioned stay. The beach is also quite close, walking distance even, although driving there is probably best. The breakfast was always good and well presented, and the chef Alex is also very accommodating with mine (and presumably others) dietary requirements. Comfortable room that was clean and spacious, will definitely being staying there again on my next...
