La Ru — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

I recently hosted my brother's pre-wedding celebration at this venue on May 2nd, 2025. The venue exceeded my expectations with its neatness and exceptional service provided by the incredible staff. However, my experience took a turn when I lost a cherished ring during the event. I was devastated, and the loss seemed irreparable.

But, 20 days later, on May 22nd, 2025, I received a heartfelt WhatsApp message from the owner informing me that the ring had been found in the garden. It was nothing short of a miracle! The staff member, Aveyo, had discovered it and promptly handed it over to the owner. This act of honesty and integrity warmed my heart and restored my faith in humanity.

It's a testament to the remarkable people who still exist in this world, and it's clear that this establishment values its staff and their character. I wholeheartedly appreciate Aveyo's honesty and the owner's diligence in returning my treasured ring. I wish them all the best and hope the establishment continues to thrive. Congratulations to Aveyo for setting a high standard of integrity, and I look forward to recommending this...

We stayed at La Ru for two nights after a tour further South. We had a warm welcome on arrival and were impressed with our room. When they provide a morning coffee making facility it will definitely be worth five stars. | The shower was the best that we have ever had...when you have mastered the touch controls....that also control the lighting etc. Never seen this before even in the best hotels, a market leader ?| The food and beverage was excellent, with a wide choice that would suit everybody.| There are pools, area’s to relax on a lounger under an umbrella, and children’s play area’s in perfectly secure surroundings.| We had to leave very early for our flight home, and the boss true to his word was up for us and even made coffee for us ....at four o’clock !| A very enjoyable stay, and we would certainly choose La Ru again if we return to...

Okay so update on the below review. After posting, I was then approached by management who has threatened to take me to court on the below statement. They also had researched my personal information and threatened my mom's business. On a positive note I must say though Ndumiso our waiter was awesome!

Original Post: I am sitting at the restaurant as I type this and from this point of view there is no ways that the rest of these reviews are legit. Someone must be paying or these are all friends of management. The services is shocking, the menu is rediculous and this is the only place I have ever seen that charges you to have shade. In a nutshell the food, management and place is dodgy. I wouldn't...
