Milkwood Mansion markets itself as an upmarket B&B. As such, a guest would have certain high expectations. These expectations were not met. Among the problems:||||- When I asked the woman working there how to get on the WiFi network (couldn't find it on my device) and for the password, she said there was no WiFi. This was a bit of a shock as this place advertises having free WiFi. I used mobile data to look up various websites and take screenshots of these websites saying this place offered free WiFi in case I had to show it to anyone who was really in charge. After a quick trip out, we returned and I asked again for the WiFi information. It resulted in me having to call the owner; the worker was suddenly able to find a dongle and we were able to get online, on a shoddy network. The owner said she would contact me to follow up, but that never happened. Even though things were resolved in the end, it would have been nice to get that follow-up.||||Protips: If you market free WiFi and for some reason your WiFi isn't working, at the very least tell your guests that something is up with the WiFi and then offer vouchers for mobile data or whatnot. Don't tell your guests you don't have WiFi.||||- Prior to Milkwood, most, if not all guesthouses provided information about what to do in the area, recommended restaurants, what to do in an emergency, etc. There was no such information provided here. Nor was there anyone around who could answer any questions.||||Protips: It really isn't difficult to compile a little booklet with practical information, restaurant recommendations, etc.||||- Breakfast was substandard. With an upmarket B&B, I have a minimum expectation of, among other things, filter coffee, real fruit juice, and fresh milk; I shouldn't have to go to the supermarket for milk so that my children could have something to put on their cereal for breakfast (speaking of which, make sure the cereal containers are full before guests arrive for breakfast). We were appalled at the lack of jams, etc. to put on our toast. Furthermore, the quality of the cooked breakfasts was very low. Among other things, the eggs were greasy and the porridge was so watery and tasteless that even adding fruit and honey to it couldn't save it. Seriously, how do you mess up porridge? ||||- When a B&B markets itself as upmarket, I expect that there would be enough glasses (for milk, juice, etc) for all guests at breakfast. This was not the case.||||- When a B&B markets itself as upmarket, I expect wine glasses (and even beer glasses) readily available, either in the room or the kitchen, along with...
