Ocean Park Guest House — Hotel in KwaZulu-Natal

A guesthouse with a personal touch. The owner makes a point of touching base with each of his guests, and prides himself in his custom Italian menu (understanding that the guesthouse is small and that options has to therefore be limited - a bit more flavour / spice variations or options on the menu would be nice though). The guest house is tastefully furnished and the owner always presents himself very smart / professionally. The diving gear wash and dry facility is very helpful and made the diving stay much more comfortable than with some of our other diving trips where there were no facilities to wash and dry your gear. It is a good place to stay at. We were welcome warmly and the rooms are very neat and spacious. We have a wonderfully large shower and toilet area. The room has a mini bar but, not for us. It has a pool and bar but, bar not for us. Pool yeah, yeah. The problems we have had was the water last night and this morning was cold in the shower. Maybe they have had a geyser problem. Day two and three. The geyser problem has not been repaired as yet. Cold showers not on. The double bed is short and pillows are too soft, even after they were fluffed up. I spent 3 nights here on a trip from New York to visit my parents in Umkomaas and have no hesitation in recommending Ocean Park Guest House. The rooms are well appointed, comfy, spacious and air conditioned. I needed to do some work during my stay so was useful to have a desk in the room and good wi-fi. As we had evening plans we were not able to try the restaurant for dinner but the breakfast was great. Great pool and area to catch some sun.
