Wow, what an experience. We stayed 2 nights at the Jembisa main Lodge - it was a perfect way to come together as an extended family, truly special. I don't want to spoil all the surprises but there are many magical locations and amazing food and drink when it comes to meal times. Cliff, David and their team deserve 6 stars! ||As the Reserve is not Big Five (we did see plains game such as zebra and giraffe on game drives), you can really enjoy the experience of being in the Bush with children, and there are lots of activities safe to enjoy from biking, walking and fishing in the reserve, to tennis and swimming at the Lodge - you can even camp out under the stars... || We also spent a night at Magari, the views were jaw dropping! A great option for a couple in one of the new suites also keen to sample the Jembisa legendary hospitality! ||We then moved on to Madikwe for 2 nights, a Big Five Reserve approx 4 hours away for our main game viewing experience, but the Lodge can also arrange game drivers at a closer Big Five reserve so you could easily just stay at Jembisa for 4 or 5 days. ||I am the founder of a Tour Operator (Bushbaby Travel) so we've been lucky to go on safari many times over the last 20 years, Jembisa is truly special and perfect when planning a family get together...
Read moreJust wonderful!|||We are very experienced travellers to Africa and many other parts of the world, so when we say that Jembisa is magical, we really mean it. We selected Jembisa as the location for a group of 20 to celebrate a milestone birthday and the accommodation , surroundings, scenery, service, food and attention to detail, exceeded our expectations, making this a truly memorable event.|||It may be clichéd but there is a world of difference between Marks and Spencer and Saville Row. There is nothing wrong with a Marks and Sparks whistle but a tailored suit fits perfectly and makes you feel very special. There are great, 5 star, lodges in South Africa and then there is Jembisa, where the hospitality, personal service and flexibility are elevated to another level.|||The staff, especially the lovely Lorraine, make all the difference and quite how the two lovable house dogs, Milo and Astro, escaped kidnap by some of our guests is a mystery. We cannot recommend...
Read moreWe visited Jembisa for my 40th birthday in June 2025 with family and friends.||During the 4 years we spent in South Africa this was one of many visits and our last visit before relocating. The magic of Jembisa is that each visit is both familiar and special. From beautiful lunches in the bush to delicious dinners by the fire. ||My now 5 year old son also loves Jembisa, particularly Lorraine, Astro and Milo. He is determined to return and work one day 🙂. Over over our 10+ visits he has learnt so much and developed a deep love of being out in the bush. ||We still miss Ed of course but Hans and Carlita make a fantastic addition to the Jembisa team. ||Jembisa holds a very special place in our hearts. For those looking for a special, family orientated safari experience we can't recommend...
