On our way back from Victoria Falls took the long drive through Botswana heading for the border post of Matin's Drift crossing back into South Africa and wanted a place to camp just after the border. Searching on the Internet and found this bush camp. The turn-off was about 4,7km from the border. We arrived at a big sliding metal gate and close by was a numeric keypad but no button for "Reception"! O boy, pull out my camping file to lookup a contact number for Moriti's reception and then my South African cellphone went berserk as new WhatsApp messages been downloading. Spend some time going through the headings and there it was: Moriti Bush Camp send my the gate code (was send a few days ago while we were in Zimbabwe!) Punched the code and bingo, gate sliding open, ||The sun was setting when we arrived at our spacious campsite and noticed that there was electrical lights and a power point but most of all there was a pile of firewood for our campfire and enough to stoke the small hot water geyser also known as a donkie!||Our campsite was next to a pond with a few wild ducks floating and we also saw a few Impalas coming for a late afternoon drink. After a great campfire dinner and wonderful hot shower we went to bed. What was amazing is the fact we did not hear and traffic from the main road! It was just amazing!||A great pity that we only spend one night but we will book again at this wonderful camp in the bush, it is a wild section of a working farm but we never heard anything other than birds! ||We arrived at sunset on Sunday the 18th of August 2024 till the...
Read moreWe had an unforgettable stay at Moriti Campsite! The setting is absolutely breathtaking—surrounded by untouched nature, with peaceful views and a sense of complete escape from the everyday world. The campsite is well maintained and thoughtfully laid out, offering both privacy and comfort.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Their passion for the area really shows and adds a personal touch to the experience.
Each campsite was spacious, clean, and beautifully integrated into the environment. The facilities, including the bathrooms and communal areas, were spotless and well-equipped. We also loved the sense of calm here—it’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, or just enjoy a quiet getaway.
We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend Moriti to anyone seeking a unique and peaceful...
Read moreThe private camping sites at Moriti, spaced apart in a game camp adjacent to the Limpoporiver, is a delight! At least two of the sites are on the river, while the others are on the edge of large pools with abundant birdlife. If you are a birdwatcher, arrive at least an hour before sunset and stay for at least an hour or two after sunrise. Each site has a private bathroom with shower, a cement slab with a washbasin, and a fire block. Our only slight problem was that at the lovely Kingfisher campsite we could not get the donkey water heating system hotter than a mild probably 30-35 degrees C. It is an open upright reservoir and the soft wind cooled it down as fast as we could...
