Palala River is back to nature. We loved staying there. We hope to come again. The rondavel was extra ordinary great. Andre and Ed are very professional!!!!!!! They learned us a lot!!!! You do not see the big 5 but you experience all the rest!! The game drive with Ed and viewing the bushman paintings with Andre was very informative, and they are very knowledgeable. I learnt a lot about the bushveld and the wildlife.

After three months in South Africa, I chose Jembisa and the Palala River Cottages/Podica Bush Camp for my last two weeks in country. I needed a quiet retreat for a writing sabbatical and some reflection time before returning to the chaos of life in the USA. Jembisa Reserve was the perfect place. I was met with gracious hospitality by the entire staff and enjoyed a simply wonderful two weeks relaxing by the banks of the Palala River, taking long walks and immersing myself in the stunning landscape and peaceful environment. It is rare to find a holiday retreat that balances the solace and privacy you seek, along with having support and services at the ready by a most capable and professional staff. Everyone was beyond kind, warm and accommodating - thank you Lorraine, Andre, Carlita, Hans, Megan and Andrew as well as the housekeeping and grounds staff. The Podica Bush camp cottage was spotless, provided everything I needed and more. The grounds were impeccable - the outdoor shower sublime - and I so appreciated having a lovely campfire built and at the ready for my first night, along with additional firewood. My bush walk with Megan was just wonderful - educational, interactive and informative - she is a joy. I also very much enjoyed my night drive with Andre with his very extensive bush knowledge and experience. Thank you to everyone at Jembisa for making my stay so...

We spent the Easter weekend at Palala River Cottage. We were blown away by what we experienced. Jembisa is the "Jewel of the Waterberg". The beauty, peace and tranquillity is unbelievable. The River Cottage is very special. The cottage has all the luxuries you need. Located on the banks of the Palala river adds to its exclusivity and serenity. It felt as if we had the whole reserve to ourselves. We must congratulate the whole team on their efforts to run the lodge so efficiently. We loved the game drive with André. What a wonderful sunset we had, watching a journey of giraffe. Once again, thank you so much Lorraine and the team for the wonderful experience. We left with very sad faces but the most amazing memories. We must absolutely return. Henning...

Thank you Lorraine and team for a great stay this past weekend at Samia and Kingfisher. We had a Cousins get together for 16 people and stayed at Samia and Kingfisher. We all enjoyed spending time together. The children had much fun in the pool at Kingfisher while the adults relaxed under the big tree and just spending time in each others company. Both Samia and Kingfisher are well equipped and the dishwasher at Kingfisher is a real hit! We managed to go for a drive or two and saw loads of Giraffe - and we didn't have to go far at all. The men enjoyed fishing in the river. Always lovely to get away. We will...
