Maroela Guesthouse Brits — Hotel in Madibeng Local Municipality

Booked 4 nights accommodation for my son's rugby tour, and was asked to pay in full upfront. Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled, and I immediately advised them of such, giving them 23 days notice. The owner continuously advised me that she would revert regarding their cancellation policy, however I was forced to chase up on it on several occasions. Finally, after getting quite irate with her, and her empty promises of a refund or cancellation advise, she threatened me by advising that I must contact her lawyer to chase up for my funds. I finally received an 80% refund, with still no idea of what their actual cancellation policy is! Beware of this before booking, as the circumstances were beyond my control, and a better customer service approach is most definately needed!! I can't comment on the accommodation, but only on the booking experience I regrettably...

So we recently went to the Stokkiesdraai World Cup Qualifier with our horses,we traveled all the way from parys. We have booked accommodation at another guesthouse but it was horrible,cold,nothing was working and I had my 3 year old daughter with me..so I quickly googled a few places that is close to stokkies venue and came accross Maroela Guesthouse. Michelle was very helpfull and friendly and quickly made a plan to accommodate us. We arrived there and WOW!!,it was clean,warm,safe parking and we LOVED the shower and my daughter and I slept like queens. Michelle and her staff were friendly and it felt like a 2nd home!! Based on the pictures the place looked nice. However it does not felt like that. Quite run down and old in need of maintenance and upgrades. One room did not have Air Conditioning/Heating and the other did but there was no remote to switch it on. When the outside temperature is below 5C you expect some kind of heating - we had a very cold night and just left with the option to sleep under several layers of blankets.
