Huntshoek Lodge — Hotel in Makana Local Municipality

Based on the reviews of others, hubby and I were very excited to spend our Anniversary at Huntshoek Lodge. Unfortunately for us there was no special welcoming. On the day of checking in I asked the lady who was assisting with my booking to give us directions to the place, and I got no reply.||||We eventually found our way, and when we got by the gate- we stood there for almost 30min, texting, calling and hooting to no avail. We were about to head back when one of the staff members who was coming in for her shift let us in with her gate pin. She continued to call to let them know that there were guests standing by the gate. She even left her bags with us to see if anyone knew we were coming. ||||She was finally told by Sydney to show us the way to the self catering tents, not even sure which tent was reserved for us. It's thanks to her that we got in and were allocated a room.||After complaining on whatsapp to the lady that I had booked through, I got no reply, only blue ticks from her side. She eventually replied the next day to say that sometimes their calls don't ring, and that instance was one of them. You'd think that someone who'd personally come and apologize, but we got nothing. ||||We even checked ourselves out, with assistance from one of the cleaners for the gate pin. Booked literally at short notice, they were more than happy to accommodate my partner and I as we needed to rest on our journey since we've been on the road for hours. Huntshoek? Best decision and we definitely will book a proper vacation at the place. The location is perfect, so peaceful and away from everything. Has the best sunset ever!! The room we got was not bad eitherfor people who booked at last minute. It will fully equipped. We got the self-catering as we needed proper rest to continue with traveling.
