We stayed at Kwandwe for 4 nights in February 2024 and it was a truly special & unforgettable few days. As a family of 3 (with a 10 yr old daughter), I spent a long time prior to our holiday reviewing a variety of options for our safari, and finally settled on Kwandwe. I had read some amazing reviews about it, so I did arrive with high expectations, but those and those of my family were surpassed by the 4 days we spent there. The lodge is beautifully situated, the rooms were amazing, the food was delicious, especially lunch which we usually ate after a morning swim in the lovely pool! but most of all, everyone working there is super friendly and professional. The morning & afternoon game drives were of course the highlight of our stay, and we were incredibly lucky to see a huge range of animals & wildlife each day. We were constantly surprised & thrilled. It was amazing, and because there are not that many people staying there at any one time, it never felt rushed or crowded when we stopped for a viewing. And this part is really important because you will spend 6 hours of each day with them, so how good your guides are will really play a big part in how good your experience is. Jason, our ranger (who we consequently nicknamed 'Super Jason' as he seemed to have the answer to every query we threw at him about the animals, wildlife and bush in general!), deserves a very special mention because he really was amazing with our daughter. She was the perfect age for such an experience and was really engaged and interested and had loads of questions for Jason and at all times, he was always patient and understanding and always treated her just like another adult. And this in turn made her holiday SO much better. To us, myself & my wife, this really is what made these 4 days, 4 of the very best...

Kwandwe Game Reserve is beautiful, huge and full of wild animals that you get to see up close. There are open grasslands, bushlands, mountains, valleys, cliffs, dams and rivers throughout with such variety of creatures. They have everything!
The accommodation is luxurious with stunning views and a relaxed, fun vibe around the lodge.
The people are the best part - staff are personable and attentive, the rangers and trackers are super knowledgable and fun - and even the food (which you wouldn't really expect on a reserve in the middle of nowhere) is better than any top restaurant we ate at while in Cape Town!
The whole experience is magical and they go out of their way to make it unforgettable with small details, and surprises along the way. By far the best place we have ever...
