I was blessed enough to be able to visits Lalibella when I was 12 I believe, my brother being 10. I hope you guys remember us, we were from Switzerland, and honestly the time I had at the camp has thought me all about life. Brian Kocher was my brother, still is, Lalibella I want you to know that he has passed in 2011. He got into an avalance at our home resort and died in it. But I want you to know that the time we had at lalibella is the few things I do remember. I was never really interested in other people , but remembering him and lalibella all I can see is him sitting in the front seat of the jeep , asking queationes like no other, our guide, I do not remember his name but his face, had to bring forth books to answer his questioned about all the animals you had in your resort, and you answered them all. This was probably 10 years ago, but now I wanted you to know. You opened my eyes to life, you thought me was life was about. My brother asked so many questions I can't even count them up, but you did all to answer them. When people say mama Afrika, you really have shown me what that means. After my brother passed in 2011, thinking back at the time we had at lalibella I can truly say you guys showed me what life is all about. All I want in life is to be able to travel back to your resort, not only because it is beautiful, and a memory of a life time, but also because lalibella has shown me what life is about. All I remember is the good times. And all I remember is waking up next to my brother in South Africa, especially lalibella, and him worrying about the monkeys. But you thought him, me and my parents so much about life I cannot even describe it. I can remember them going out and finding porcupine pines, just for us, and guys we still have them. I remember you answering all questions my brother asked, I remember the picknick we had next to rhinos, no joke, my mom was scared as hell... When you guys say mam Africa, it really is. I grew up in Switzerland, life in Colorado, USA right now, but Africa is really where you learn about yourself, and lalibella showed me this. I do not lie when I say this, I do not remember much, but I do remember the time at lalibella. Not only with your crew, but also with my brother and parents m I remember sitting at your massive table, only our family, and we invited your crew to the table. You where reluctant at first, but joined us in the end, and I remember those nights as clear as they had happened last night. It really was the time of my life, not only did I learn so much about Mama Africa, bit I learned about life. My goal in my life it to be able to travel back to lalibella, hopefully with a new generation, to show them what life is truly about. lalibella, you have truly been an eye opener, a teacher, and a try inspiration. I really do mean that. I do not know if you still remember us, the Kocher family, whom you did everything for to make us feel at home, and you truly did! I do not say this to be funny, but out if respect, I have seen true pain, but with you guys all I remember is true happiness. I will be back, I am working towards my goal knowing that I must visit you again, you have shown me the true meaning of life, and I want to pass that on! I really do hope you are doing well, and I really do hope to see you soon, as you really have been an inspiration to me and my family, in the near future I will be visiting, even if you do not remember me, my brother and parents, I will always remember you, and I will do all it takes to come back to you! lalibella is the best place on earth, South Africa is an inspiration, and you really have shown me the way of life. I will always love you guys for this, and the memories you have given me, and I will make more with you, we will be back, and I will do everything I can to come back to you, and maybe help...

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to many places around the world, but Lalibela Wildlife Reserve is the first place that brought me to tears when it was time to leave. This isn’t just a safari destination—it’s something far deeper. It’s a life-changing, soul-stirring experience that stays with you long after you’ve gone.||From the very beginning, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. We arrived on Father’s Day, and the staff surprised my husband with a thoughtful gift that made our first moments at the reserve even more meaningful. It was just the first of many deeply personal touches throughout our stay.||Lauren in reservations was a dream to work with—quick to respond, highly professional, and genuinely helpful in making our trip seamless and stress-free. When we arrived at Inzolo Lodge, we were blown away by how immaculate, comfortable, and beautifully appointed our room was. Every detail had been carefully considered, and we felt completely at home.||The service throughout was truly exceptional—beyond anything we’ve experienced before. The team at the lodge took incredible care of us, with warmth and attention that made us feel more like family than guests. The food was another highlight—absolutely delicious, with generous portions and thoughtful accommodations for my dietary restrictions. The daily menus were creative and delightful, and the chef’s talents blew us away.||Then there were the game drives, which were nothing short of magical. Our guide, Nick, was outstanding—deeply knowledgeable, personable, and clearly passionate about the wildlife and environment. He tailored every drive to our interests and made sure each outing was unique. One of the most unforgettable moments was seeing a cheetah mother with her cubs up close—something we’ll never forget. Watching the majestic lions in their natural habitat was equally breathtaking. Nick also shared the lighter side of the wild—we’re still laughing about some of the hilarious moments we experienced out on the drives. He truly showed us both the beauty and the humor that nature has to offer.||By the end of our stay, we felt such a genuine connection to the people at Lalibela. It was hard to say goodbye, knowing we may not see them again. But we left with full hearts, profound gratitude, and memories that will last a lifetime.||It’s hard to put into words how truly special this place is. If you have the opportunity to visit Lalibela, don’t hesitate—it will move you in ways you didn’t expect. We are forever grateful to have experienced this...

I think this is the most incredible place we have ever visited. Without exception. The accommodation is beautifully presented, in a rustic, bush lodge style. There are so many little touches, like the buffalo horn toilet roll holders, and elephants carved above the fireplace. An open log fire greeted us on arrival, along with a warm glass of berry juice. All the food was so fresh, and delicious, and the staff at the lodge were friendly, attentive and really helpful. Tea and coffee was available at all times, along with hand made cookies. Our game drives were just phenomenal - in just 2 days we saw all of the big 5 (except the very shy leopard), alongside a huge variety of antelope, warthog, smaller mammals and birds. Woody - our ranger and driver - was absolutely brilliant. He met us on arrival at the gate, and took us on a mini tour the first evening. We had personal wake up calls each morning, and he graciously answered all our questions, and was incredibly knowledgable about all the flora and fauna. The ponchos and hot water bottles were an essential and very welcome extra on the cold mornings! Along with handmade goodies and proper coffee at break time out in the reserve. The room was luxurious, with a massive bed! Everything was spotless, and beautifully finished. Our one complaint is that we didn’t have longer here!! We will be back!

Unforgettable experience at Lalibela Our stay at Lentaba Lodge in Lalibela Game Reserve was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived at the gate, where we were warmly welcomed, it was clear we were in for a truly special experience. The team at Lentaba Lodge went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Every detail was taken care of with ease and care. My wife is vegetarian, and the thoughtful attention to her dietary preferences was amazing—every meal included fresh, flavorful vegetarian dishes that were simply delicious. The quality of the food was outstanding, and there was always plenty to enjoy. The game drives were a highlight of the trip. Our ranger, Des, was incredible—his deep knowledge of the wildlife and his passion for the reserve made every outing a learning adventure. We had up-close encounters with lions, elephants, cheetahs, rhinos, giraffes, and so much more. Des’s energy and positive attitude were unwavering, even when the weather wasn’t on our side, making the experience even more memorable. Lalibela truly provided a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. A huge thank you to the entire team at Lentaba Lodge for their exceptional service and hospitality.
