THE KAISER'S B & B — Hotel in Makana Local Municipality

So I was going to Grahamstown to do some work for a few days and I needed somewhere to stay. I contacted the Grahamstown Hospitality network and Rodger Kaiser responded, and provided me with accommodation. I have fairly specific needs, a I travel with a lot of expensive TV equipment and it needs to be loaded/unloaded unless I have accommodation which allows the vehicle to in close proximity to the room. Well, I arrived and was given a passcode to the electronic gates and exactly as promised, I had a parking space right next to my room. The last time I stayed in Grahamstown, the space I stayed in was small and pokey, however this space was very generous. I was told that it was a self catering affair, with some basic equipment, and this was in evidence. It was comfortable, quiet and within easy reach of the main shopping centre in Grahamstown, Pepper Grove Mall, where I could easily get breakfast and any other supplies I needed. The bathroom was great, with both a bath tub and a shower. And I made friends with their two dogs, which for me is a bonus. All in all it was very satisfactory and exactly what I expected. And the cost was more than reasonable. The proprietor was very helpful and made me feel very welcome. The establishment sell itself as a self-catering space and it fitted my requirements very well. This will be the first place I will call when I need to go back to...

I stayed for a couple of nights self catering here in Spring.|| The location was very quiet with off street parking in front of the accomodation which is at the back of the main property. I would say that you would need a car as it is a walk to the centre of town but perfect for visiting the schools as it is between Kingswood and St Andrews/DSG.There is a 24hr Spar at the garage just down the road for any last minute needs.|| In one large room I had a basic but spacious kitchenette (microwave only) eating area (table for 4), v comfy bed, sitting room and full bathroom. It got chilly in the evening for which a plug in radiator was provided (as was a torch) and DSTV for entertainment-||All was spotlessly clean. What more could one require from a B and B.||I opted to do my own breakfast so cannot comment on that or the pool as it was the wrong time of...

Very good set-up: clean, comfortable bedding, practical set-up with parking inside the property. A very helpful and friendly owner, who made effort to ensure that my stay was comfortable, and accommodated needs as they arose. DstTv, hot showers, clean towels daily, microwave, kettle, fridge and room service. Well within walking distance from much of the town. Quiet, easy to get a good night's rest. Good value for money. The wifi was free, but having some problems which the owner said he intended to have it...
