Mountain Rose Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Makhado Local Municipality

I booked the DELUXE DOUBLE ROOM WITH BATH. It is said on the booking that this DOUBLE room has a seating area, a balcony with a garden view as well as a PRIVATE bathroom boasting a bath. The unit has TWO BEDS!!!This booking was made and PAID for on the 12th of September 2023. Booked from 18 September to check out on the 20th of September. This was a business trip(also stated in the booking) and I came all the way from Botswana on the 17th to pick up our Sales Rep in Pretoria. The site also advertises itself as PET FRIENDLY if arranged. I had mailed the Mountain Rose on Sunday the 17th to explain that I have a problem with my 15 year old pocket size Yorkie that my mom cannot feed as she has to be fed with a syringe and my mom was not managing. I had asked if I may bring her along. I heard nothing and had to leave her against all odds in Pretoria. I was only informed via whatsapp the Monday at 11h17 that NO PETS are allowed. We left Pretoria on Monday, the 18th at 04h00 the morning and drove to Musina to attend site meetings there. We drove back to Louis Trichard and stopped at Mountain Rose Hotel at 16h30. Very tired, just wanting to have a nice warm bath and rest. We were informed by Zelda that the booking was done incorrect by Booking.com as per their description and that if we had wanted two beds, we have to book BOTH rooms and that Booking.com has misinformed us. She also said that the room with the TWO beds does NOT HAVE ANY BATHROOM FACILITIES and must be booked with the other room and if you wanted to use the bathroom, you have to walk past the main entrance of the Hotel to use the bathroom in the other room. If I had not already paid in full, trusting the Hotel (I was told to pay upfront) I would have left just there and then. The web site says we pay at the Hotel when we arrive)It was decided to take us to a cottage below the house of the owners, where we were informed we would stay for the three days. (Two nights)This room was not prepared. Scattered for towels. No clean cutlery,but freshly unwashed and just rinsed ones on the zink. Still wet with marks.No microwave. Had to go and buy plates and cups. leaking toiliet.No bath.Bathroom has one window without a handle and no curtain. Room windows tied with wires. Cannot close. No dustbin in living area. Left without breakfast both mornings as we left at 6h30. No breakfast packed either. With loadhsedding we were informed that all the rooms except ours have electricty on generator. I...

Do not sleep here!!!!!!! We booked through Lekkerslaap (like we always do for trips) earlier the day an were traveling for more than 600km to get there. Fortunately I called ahead to let them know that we will be there after 5pm. At first they didn't even know that we were coming...

Upon arrival we realized that there are no water, except a little boiling water dripping from the geyser. We used the toilet and couldn't be flushed. (Even the meganism was broken) I tried calling the cell number and also send a whatsapp message hoping they will sort it out before we woke up the next morning.... no luck!

Dirty the next morning we decided to leave early finding a guy next to the carport filling the Jojo tank. As my wife dropped of the keys she complained about the water situation and also that we were not informed about the breakfast, the lady replied that we can go shower now, water will soon be available...

No thanks, no maintenance, no service and not even an apology...
