Immersed in nature, surrounded by flora, fauna; stunning views of the Soutspansberg mountains creating a spectacular backdrop down into the bush. Then, led into the lush flower gardens of Palm Haven. Shrubs covered in blooms & giant butterflies, only birdsong interruptions, or maybe needing to take shade under a stoep or palm, maybe cool down in the pool! This idyllic spot truly is ‘Haven’. ||With stunning formalesque avenues & quadrilles of assorted fruit and nut trees, a humming microclimate of pollinators busying themselves whilst chickens strut, quails busy themselves under veg. Pergolas of grenadines leading into the most phenomenal and inspiring kitchen gardens. Head gardener, grower & curator of rare heritage seeds is simply inspirational, as a gardening geek it was cherry on top for me to experience. ||The cornucopia of fresh, organic, sustainable fruit & veg that supplies the kitchen daily is delicious. Oh!!! And… The food served is SUBLIME!||I ate the most delicious food every moment of every day during my entire stay. Breakfasts will set you up for the whole day, I kid you not. Whatever you want Chef provides, oh and the organic fruit/veg has just been picked that morning and walked to the kitchen. Sustainability & traceability eh? ||Suppers! Nom nom! Two amazingingly talented Chefs team up together (from thief Cape Towndays, Michelin starred restaurant Chefs). I ate like a boss every single day I was there. I observed each guest being served their favourites. Nothing is too much at Palm Haven for Chef Chantal & Chef Stephen. Oh my days, their food made my tongue sing!||This is a rare gem folks. The food #mouth watering, well, whole place, is truly scrumptious, delivering gastronomic delights. Limpopo of all places! Tho heads up, what an upbeat place to see. ||En route to Kruger park, Botswana, Mozambique & Zim borders. Close, very, to N1 - WOOHOO! What a road trip. This bougie, best kept secret is about to be outed - BOOYAH! Amazing place peops! ||Oh & great place for single female travellers, foodies, nature lovers & those who appreciate Africa. All hosted by the amazing Angela & Richard Ball. As a single lady digging yoga/retreat/wildlife/traveller, this gave me soooo much more! ||Thank you so much Palm Haven. Truly amazing. Read moreThe guesthouse is a little out of the way from landing in Johannesburg, 425 km to be exact. It is however an idyllic resting place after a day's work. The owners, Richard and Angela, go out of their way to offer the kind of care and attention everybody deserves. They welcome people into their spot of paradise and ensure that all visitors thoroughly enjoy their stay. The food cooked by Steve, chef extraordinary, for dinner is fresh and delicious every time. I only mentioned I like custard and it was offered freely. The rooms are very comfortable, have wifi throughout and are kept extremely clean and tidy. The shower facilities are also fantastic. Breakfast is cooked to order and I was made a packed lunch by Angela daily. The hosts are very conversational and enjoy interacting with the guests, every day without fail. To be asked how the day went was just like being at home. Organic food from the garden was used...
