Blyde River Cabins — Hotel in Maruleng Local Municipality

The place is beautiful. Willem was a good host, how ever I didn't not appreciate the following about the place

Most of the activities (e.g. horse riding, fishing) listed on their page are actually outside their facilities...which is a long drive from the actual accommodation

According to their page, they have daily housekeeping services..but it wasn't the case. You're actually expected to clean after yourselves. Even on the day of departure you're still expected to load all your dirt dishes on to the dishwasher. And if the place is too messy the will be charged an extra amount of R500 for cleaning services.

The 6 sleeper unit only had mirrors in one bedroom, which was such an inconvenience as all the ladies had to take turns and share one mirror.

I also found what I believe to be a rat dropping on my bed. But the owner wasn't apologetics about it and insist that its of a gecko but either way it's disgusting and uncomfortable to find droppings...

Thank you for your response, sneaking in extra guests is us not disclosing that we're expecting people, we mentioned it the first morning that we're expecting 2 people over to which we were advised it will be R400 pp and I believe we paid the R800 without complaints. I understand you're running a business but Please understand that when people visit that's their home away from home, you can't tell people to clean up their mess, also there was no vomit on the floor, and the sheet didn't have a permanent stain. So you charged us R1200 for something you gonna throw in the washing machine basically because cleaning is quite standard when guests check out. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with how things are done from other businesses with...

very nice cabins at a location right at the water the cottages are spacious and well appointed the surrounding area has a lot of potential we travelled together with friends and chose this location to unwind, at the end of 3 weeks roadtripping trough SA. we chose this location because of the jacuzzi, but it turned out to be broken, we had chosen the location for this and no compensation followed. That felt a bit inhospitable. the list of house rules with possible fines made us feel like we would be potentially bad guests. I tried to explain this...
