Fleur de Lys is probably fine if you just want a one-night stopover - it’s reasonably near the main attractions in the area. But four nights was too much. The swimming pool was tiny (no actual swimming possible) and filled with dead leaves and debris. They kept promising to clean it but it stayed dirty, along with peeling paint, and we couldn’t use it. My daughter and I each had a boma - cute and spacious - but my main light was broken and despite many requests, it wasn’t fixed (they actually tried just before we left but I was packing and said not to bother). The microwave was broken (although we did swap it for another); my window was cracked with loads of dead flies on the sills; the water didn’t drain from the shower and when I flushed the loo water rose through the shower plug hole. The huts have outdoors fireplaces with seating areas, and a shared outdoors equipped kitchen, which was a nice place to have dinner. |Despite not being a game lodge, there's some general game on the farm besides the Cattle. This includes impala, reedbuck, bushbuck, waterbuck, duikers (common and red), bush pigs, hares and occasionally leopards and other opportunistic visitors. |The owner spontaneously showed up at my door after dinner, and knowing I was interested in the wildlife, took me on a private night game drive to try and find cool critters of the night. We saw some cool stuff||The beds are perfectly decent and the hot water in the shower and sink is always good. No TV makes you appreciate being in "wild Africa". Definitely...

The place has a bush veld feeling and sounds of various animals are heard throughout the day and night. The farm is big enough to ride bikes on or take a long walk. It is very safe and relaxing. The owners are very hospitable and...
