A Truly Remarkable and Unforgettable Experience! Words can hardly describe how incredible and special our stay at Kapama was during our honeymoon. From the impeccable quality and thoughtful attention to detail, to the staff’s genuine desire to ensure we were comfortable and happy, everything about our time there was exceptional. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days (May 9th to May 12th), and every moment exceeded our expectations. Even before we arrived, the concierge team was outstanding in helping us plan our stay. We worked with Melanie over several months to create the perfect itinerary, book additional excursions, and arrange a spa day. She was incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive the entire time. Once we arrived, we were paired with a ranger and tracker—Edwin and Humphrey—who would guide us through all our morning and evening game drives. They were absolutely phenomenal. The drives were exciting, informative, and unforgettable. We saw so many animals, and each outing felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. One detail we especially loved: you’re paired with the same group of guests for all the drives during your stay, which made it easy to get to know each other and build camaraderie. It really enhanced the experience. The mornings started early—wake-up calls at 5 a.m.—but the staff made it such a pleasure. Each morning, we gathered in the lodge for fresh coffee, tea, and an impressive spread of light bites before heading out. Even something as simple as a morning snack was treated with care: the mugs were pre-warmed, and the food selection included fruits, muffins, rusk, muesli, breads, and more. The same happened before evening drives, often with a fresh cake added to the mix! Our suite was immaculate. The design was beautifully traditional yet refined, with a private balcony shaded by trees that offered both privacy and a connection to the surrounding nature. On our first night, housekeeping surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine and a drawn bubble bath—such a thoughtful touch. Dining at Kapama was another highlight. You’re paired with the same server throughout your stay, which added a personal and welcoming feel. We were lucky to have Gloria, who was an absolute delight. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The food itself was incredible—creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each meal featured a brand-new menu, so we were constantly surprised and impressed by the variety and quality. During the game drives, there was always a special moment in the final hour when we stopped for refreshments—coffee and snacks in the morning, and drinks with snacks in the evening. These breaks were some of our favorite moments, allowing us to connect more deeply with Edwin, Humphrey, and the other guests. Lastly, the spa was truly world-class. We booked the signature couples massage, and it was one of the best spa experiences we've ever had. The entire Spa & Wellness Center is stunning, and the gym and pool overlook a vast watering hole where we saw buffalo and other wildlife—a breathtaking setting for relaxation. We couldn’t be more grateful for the experience Kapama gave us. It was warm, magical, and unforgettable—a perfect start to our marriage. If you’re considering staying here, do it. You won’t regret a single moment.

We found Kapama Game Lodge online and booked purely based on the amazing reviews. Having never done a safari before, we did not know what to expect. But this place far exceeded anything we could have imagined. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff greet you warmly, always with a smile, and genuinely go out of their way to make sure you are having a great stay. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, and everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping team seems happy to be there, which makes all the difference. The food was another unexpected highlight. The lodge is all inclusive, with multiple restaurants across the property, and every meal was gourmet quality. Normally, with all you can eat setups, the food can be hit or miss, but at Kapama, everything is cooked to order, beautifully presented, and delicious. There is a wide variety to choose from, and every dish we tried was excellent. And of course, the safari experience itself was truly unforgettable. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five and enjoyed some of the best wildlife viewing we could have hoped for. Even other guests in our vehicle commented on how rare and special our sightings were. A huge shoutout to our incredible guide Tervin and tracker Thomas, who not only skillfully tracked the animals but also shared fascinating insights about them along the way. This was a true bucket list experience, and I cannot recommend Kapama enough. If you are considering booking, do it. You will not find a better introduction to safari anywhere else.

We had an amazing experience during our 3-day stay at Kapama River Lodge. Our guide/ranger and tracker, Happiness and Fanie were really amazing and experienced in the game drives - we were able to see the Big Five twice across the 6 game drives included in our stay. The hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy the day between the drives. We had a good experience with the food in all meals - some better than others, but good overall. Service at lunch could be a bit slow compared to other meals but not a huge problem. Come prepared for the windy and cold game drives, especially during winter. Once the sun goes down in the afternoon drive or before it really heats up in the morning, it’s tough, but they try to help with blankets and hot water bags. Anyhow, have your strongest coats and jackets ready. The guides were experienced and kept us calm even when a pack of lions was literally around us and our cars - a breathtaking experience. Every staff member was very attentive and always ready to help. Within the reserve, you can see some of the wildlife but the real fun happens during the drives. Make sure you notice to your guide what you want to see and they will try their best to support it. We had one drink and didn’t like it, but the wine menu has great options - we only drank what was included, none of the exclusive list options. The spa prices are expensive - I ended up not using it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kapama Private Game Reserve, and I must say it was a truly exceptional experience. From the luxurious accommodations to the delicious dining options, the rejuvenating spa treatments, and the thrilling 3 hours game drives, Kapama Private Game Reserve exceeded all my expectations.

Accommodation: The accommodation at Kapama Private Game Reserve was nothing short of breathtaking. I stayed in one of their stunning River Lodge Deluxe Suites on the 1st floor , which was beautifully designed with a perfect blend of luxury and Modern African-inspired aesthetics. The spacious room was equipped with all modern amenities, including air conditioning, a comfortable bed, a private balcony overlooking the bushveld, and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and a rain shower. The attention to detail and the level of comfort provided truly made me feel pampered and indulged throughout my stay. Kedibone, our housekeeper ensure our room was spick and span throughout or stay.

Restaurants: The breakfast, lunch and dining options and Xitsumbeni restaurant were exquisite. They served a variety of mouthwatering dishes, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. The culinary team at the lodge crafted delicious meals that catered to different dietary requirements and preferences. From sumptuous breakfast spreads to delectable lunches and dinners, every meal was a treat for the taste buds. The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who surprised me with a custom complementary cake and a song for my birthday ensuring that I had a memorable dining experience.

Spa: The spa at Kapama Private Game Reserve was a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation. Nestled in the heart of the bushveld, the spa offered a serene and tranquil setting where I could unwind and indulge in a range of spa treatments. The skilled therapists used natural and organic products, and their expert hands left me feeling refreshed and revitalized. The swimming pool at the spa overlooks the river that runs throughout the lodge, perfect for that Instagram moment.

Game Drives: The game drives at Kapama Private Game Reserve were an absolute highlight of my stay. Led Thabo, Xandria and Quintin who knowledgeable and experienced guides, the game drives provided an up-close and personal encounter with Africa's iconic wildlife. From majestic elephants to graceful giraffes, lazy hippos and buffalos, horned rhinos, elusive leopards, and fierce lions, I was able to witness these animals in their natural habitat, creating unforgettable memories. The open safari vehicles provided excellent visibility, and the guides' passion for conservation and wildlife was evident in their informative commentary throughout the game drives. These game drives last for 3 hours with a chance to have a snack and drink in the wild and occur twice a day

Overall, my experience at Kapama Private Game Reserve was truly exceptional. The accommodations were luxurious, the restaurants served delicious meals, the spa was a haven of relaxation, and the game drives were thrilling and educational. The attentive and friendly staff, including our host Charles, ensured that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable, and I left with memories that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend Kapama Private Game Reserve for an unforgettable five-star safari experience in the heart of the...

We had gone to South Africa for our honeymoon and decided to do a Safari at Kruger. There was a last minute change due to unforeseen's circumstances which changed are booking to kpama resorts. When we were going there the people who asked us where we were staying immediately started to rave about kapama when we told them. So on our journey there we were already getting a little excited and believe me it did not disappoint.

As soon as we entered the property we were greeted by zebras and giraffe who were calmly walking around. The staff at the reception was very warm and welcoming. We stayed in the spa suite rooms. Overall the room was absolutely brilliant. There is no TV over there except for the bar and it was a welcome change because you got to spend time in nature instead of watching TV. The staff and reception throughout were brilliant. For all our breakfast lunches and dinner our Waitress was Gloria who was probably the sweetest lady that we met. She made sure that we always got food/drinks and what we wanted throughout our stay.

Our safari was led By Thabo assisted by Zandry and Quinton (our spotter) who were exceptional. It was there calmness and attitude that allowed us to be calm even when we were a couple of feet away from a pride of lions or a rhino. They were so good at spotting animals by their call or by their footprints and they taught us so much about nature that you just go back in awe.

We finished our last day at the place by taking a relaxing spa. My masseuse for the day was Olivia and she was very nice, calm and did a great job.

I think if I had to summarise this is probably the best place that I have ever stayed in with the best food that I have ever eaten in a place. Every single dish aur drink that we ordered exceeded our expectations.

I will definitely recommend this place to others and will myself be back again.

Special Thanks again to Gloria, Thabo, Zandry...
