Little Carthage — Hotel in Maruleng Local Municipality

The outer place and the view is great but the service is totally poor. Dripping taps and toilets. The owner treated us like thieves, she just made us feel out of place😢 like she literally sat outside watching us on our departure day as if we were going to take not steal something. Hospitality was poor!!!!

I asked you prior of our arrival about noise policy and you said so long it does not affect your neighbours. It was only one day that our noise was louder according to you and after talking to you, we kept it down. Stop with your exaggeration!! Out of our 5 day stay, how convinient was it that on our departure day and only that dayyou felt that you needed to drink coffee outside and to top it off to ask your helper to tell us to leave?? Hm... You need more growing...

This is one of my favorite places to visit in Hoedspruit. The dirt road to get there looks quite challenging but it was a breeze in our little Hyundai i10. Make sure you get good directions because Google Maps gets a little confused along the way and cellphone signal can be quite patchy. It's located in the beautiful and secluded Ndlovumzi Nature Reserve alongside the Olifants River. The accommodation is quite basic but very comfortable and Heather has always been a very accommodating host. The cottage we stayed in is air conditioned with a kitchenette (self-catering) although there is an outdoor kitchen and dining area that I particularly love. We spent a weekend at this lovely little self-catering venue hidden on the banks of the Olifants River in Ndlovumzi Private Nature Reserve. This little gem has a deck with a breathtaking view over the river where we spent our days bird-watching and the evenings enjoying sundowners while watching the sun drop over the horizon. As Little Carthage is located in a reserve that only has small game, walking and cycling is allowed.
