Mrakes Guesthouse — Hotel in Matjhabeng Local Municipality

I booked 3 rooms at this guest house via booking.com on 21 July 2025. When i called the host to inform them of our ETA, i was told that they're fully booked, while all the rooms showed availability on booking.com. My card was charged with an amount of R1 740. Unfortunately my issue was not resolved and we had to search for alternative accommodation around 7pm....it was dark and we were almost stranded. I had to pay another R2 550 for the night (which bought my expense to R4 290). Another guest house owner told us that we're the third group of people who lost money in this way by Mrakes guest house. What a terrible...

There was no hot water and no tea station in the rooms. I could tolerate it only because the reception lady was very nice, accommodative and helpful. The place needs to be upgraded. I wouldn't...

I loved the rooms we booked for my mom and the kids and a couples room. The only thing I didn't like was that we didn't have hot or cold water. But the lady who works there boiled...
