Ancarene, the host, was very friendly and helpfull. She supplied us with very good advice about things to do in the area. Splendid self drive flower routes on farm. Excellent displays and variety of flowers experienced at the end of August.It is a working farm with a large spectrum of birds around. We ordered dinner that was delivered to our unit. The meal was excellent value and 5 star quality. The unit is very functional, spotlessly clean and very well stocked for self catering purposes. Very quiet, private and safe at units. Hubby and I decided to take a quick trip,We searched the internet for Klawer ñ came across a little farm named Maskam Guest Farm.We got an instant booking and was accomodated immediately. The place is 6km inn on a clean gravel road. We enjoyed our stay to the max ! We bought baked bread ñ grape jam from the farms shop. Although there are a variety of jams to choose from. We had a delicious 2 course supper and their breakfast is tops. Anncarene together with her staff made our stay a pleasant one. Beautiful scenery with all the comforts of home. Free WiFi and DSTV. Few minutes drive to town and ample spots to walk and explore. Definitely a must for nature lovers.

Edit: Back at the guest house a few years later, a bit less dry this time, the dam is full of water and teaming with bird life, we saw a Kori bustard, Ludwigs Bustard, European bee eaters and Southern Black Korhaan to name a few, reptiles also paid off as we saw some awesome Southern Rock agamas, Karoo gecko, plated lizards and unfortuany no snakes.
