I've booked 2 rooms for myself, my wife and my 3 kids from the 21st of September 2024 - 23rd of September 2024. The lady who took my reservation confirm everything about my bookings and specifics. 3 days prior to me jetting off to Hazyview from Jhb. I phone the hotel to remind them of my expectations and my preference. Tishwalo confirm that all is in order. On my arrival I was offered a smelling room with 2 single beds combined to make up a king/ queen-size bed. The other room 08 (for the kids) had 2 double beds which I did not have a problem with. I spoke to the manager and informed him that I made bookings with specific expectations. I was promised that our room will have a door leading to the pool area. However, the manager told me that there is no room with a door leading to the pool area. I told him that this was false advertising then. After 45 minutes of fighting and also trying to get alternative accommodation, I was offered another room (77)which was much better but not close to what I initially expected, I had to settle for that because it was late and I could not get any accommodation nearby. But later I saw those 4 rooms that are next to the pool area with sliding doors. Meaning the Manager lied to me. I will never set foot in that hotel again. I read all reviews before making bookings but decided to ignore them and give them a chance. I was also hoping that by phoning them, they will try and improve, but to my surprise, they were more happy to prove the previous guest reviews right. I will never ignore other people reviews, they are true. There were complains about the smell in some of the rooms and two rooms were offered and both had a carpet smell that was not pleasant.
The hotel outside and the garden place is superb, but your service and rooms. NOT GOOD AT ALLL.
As a loyalty program member for southern sun, I will support you but not in Hazyview.
16.10.2024 I will like to send my sincere appreciation to Hazyview Sun Management for the prompt response to my query. Not only did they respond on this post but they took time to call me and speak to me in person. That to me is good Customer service that will go a long way. You have shown that you take our reviews/feedback serious and for that I have no doubt that you will get most of your challenges resolved.
I will be putting you into a test on my next vacation in Mpumalanga. Big ups to Gillian for her great Customer service, I will be coming back. Thank you very...

I did read the reviews and wanted to give the hotel a chance but sadly the reviews were correct regarding the rooms.||- We were first put into room 65. The pictures weren’t as per the website. We wouldn’t book a room with a baby in a thatch roof, which was dark, musty and a health concern. The carpets were dusty and damp. The pictures on the website also showed padded head boards as we needed this for the late night baby feeds.|- We then asked if we could change rooms because of the above and that we needed a padded headboard for the above mentioned late night baby feeds to be comfortable. We were given hard short headboards 🥲Even downgraded from a king bed to two single beds in room 87 and it was late in the evening so we just decided to call it a night and not complain.
