Nels River Guest House & Spa — Hotel in Mbombela

What a disappointment. Only saw glowing reports about this spot, yet actual experience was far from good. I have yet to sign into the place. Upon arrival, I could not get into property. Phoning the number on gate led to voicemail. When eventually let in, nobody welcomed me. Lady was on the phone, and her "friend" gave me keys and showed me where my room was. I was not checked in, shown what is what in my room or the property, given breakfast times, or any info of that sort.||||The lady in reception and her friends sat and had wine and beers in front of the property till 10 in the night. Quite loudly, and they left all their empty bottles, glassed and cigarette butts on the tables outside. As I did not know what time breakfast was, I went to the breakfast area at 6:45. If there was a less than zero score I would put that in. It was a company booking and payment hadn’t cleared by the time we checked in. No prob I thought. Explained to the helpful lady on check in that if funds hadn’t cleared by the morn I would settle the bill on my private cc. I made a payment through airbnb for this guesthouse. it showed availability for the specific dates, and requested a payment, which I made. After half an hour I receive a mail that stated that the room was no longer available, and that they will refund me in about 15 workdays! So in the meantime they get the interest on the money of their client, while the client must wait up to 15 working days.
