Dear Sirs||||I am in receipt of a Mr Gay South Africa voucher which I got via Mr Gay South Africa for a 3 night stay, half board (dinner, bed, breakfast) in the establishment called Nomndeni Lodge - Nelspruit. ||||On our arrival on the 25th October 2013, we, my 74 year old mother and myself, were greeted by reception who seemed very vague about what was happening. ||||I was informed that we will no longer be staying in the main lodge but would be transferred to the smaller lodge. When I asked why no reason was given but just a blank look. ||||I did inform the reception that I needed a standalone shower for my mother who is semi wheelchair bound. I was informed this was fine. ||||I left the reception with a bad feeling that I was not welcome and felt that I had not been treated in a satisfactory manner!||||When we arrived at the second lodge we were ushered into a small unit. This unit had a broken basin tap and the bar fridge did not work. I complained about this. ||||The following unit that we were shown too was slightly better however the shower door is missing, half the lights in the unit don't work and the loo is in such a tight position that my mother simply can't get off it once her business is finished!||||Yesterday (25th) we asked what time dinner would be served and I was informed that it would be at 6:30pm which we were happy about. When we arrived in the "restaurent" we were told dinner will not be served!! I asked as to why and the house lady said that the main lodge had no one to bring the food to us. I had to drive down to the main lodge for dinner. The problem I had was that arrangements had been made to eat where we were and I had several glasses of wine before dinner. I was not prepared to drive after drinking. I called reception to find out what their problem was and I was told that dinner would not be served to us. I informed that I will then be placing an order with Mr Delivery and the bill will be for the lodge to which the reception simply sighed. ||||We only received our dinner at 8:20pm from Mr Delivery!||||When I asked to speak to the manager, reception told me NO ONE was available to handle my complaints!||||Today (26th) we ate breakfast which was very nice and again confirmed dinner to the evening. We were informed that dinner would be served. We had 3 tiny pieces of meat, some vegetables and rice for dinner. The meat was dry as was the rice. No starters or deserts was provided. ||||So far our experience at this lodge has been far from a happy experience. We are unable to book early into Crystal Springs as they are fully booked for the weekend and we are therefore stuck in this place!||||As a guest I am very disappointed in the service of this lodge and as a professional in Hospitality with my own Guest House I am very shocked at the service delivery!||||Perhaps the service I and my mother are receiving is because I am Gay and paid for this accommodation via Mr Gay South...
Read moreThe lodge is clean and comfortable, but offers very basic service for a four star establishment. The staff (2 in total) were pleasant and accommodating - we arrived to collect our keys after 8pm on the 23rd December and the rest of the party arrived even later than that . Louis patiently waited for everyone to arrive and to show them their rooms. It would help if the gates were automated and the guests were provided with remotes to enter and exit the premises without someone having to wait to physically unlock the gates. Breakfasts were good but always the same, no variety at all. The lodge does not offer any drinks, or snacks not even bottled water is available. They do have fridges in every room so I suppose you are expected to stock up your own fridge. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were ok. Some of the deco is "strange" to put it mildly (the suite upstairs), perhaps a case of personal taste. The lodge has a lot of potential that has yet to be...
Read moreI booked online without taking care where the place really is. Outside Nelspruit up in the Southern Mountains. ItT was extremely difficult to find the place and then, what a surprise the 45m2 executive room I booked turned out to be a extremely small place max. 15m2 with no windows. After complaining the manager admitted me in one of his as he called it “other properties”. ||Called also Nomndeni Lodge. There o got a real room, with a balcony. Everything looked pretty new. No amenity kit in the bathroom, hot water took hours to arrive.||There were some suits below my room occupied by larger families. Extreme noise throughout the whole night. ||The Breakfast was mediocre. I decided that this place is not...
